like button?

is it to much to ask, or has it been asked before to get a "like" button for posts? you know, facebook style?

Just a short opinion......

This place is already FAR too much like a grade school Facebook site...... and FAR too little like a gambling informational site.

good point. some posts and posters are very entertaining though. just thought it may be easier to show my appreciation in that way

Edited to say: Nevermind. As soon as I post that, I see we do still have green bars. I thought we got rid of those during football season for some reason.

Like button would be a cool addition. Should have a dislike button too. You see it a lot in comments sections, youtube, etc. They use it on a baseball forum I lurk at and it's kinda cool.

And it does differ from karma points cause you can only give someone karma so many times.

Ideally someone's green-bar rep would be partially determined/calculated by likes vs dislikes on their posts.

Not that it's a huge deal, but as far as feature ideas it'd be a quick win. I'm sure it's already available as a plug-in.

Also if you required that the user be logged in to use the buttons it might drive registration numbers up a bit, by getting people who never intend to post to register just so they could like/dislike.
