Thought the number would be quite higher actually.

I played badmitton and twisted my ankle.

I went fishing and gouged myself with a treble hook and got a sunburn.

I went bowling and got a blister on my thumb.

Sports will kill you. :)

It's sad. I think about this thing often. I live in a suburban white neighborhood. I grew up the same way. On weekends, we were always playing football (tackle) sometimes with pads, basketball, or baseball depending on season and weather. Then, may have a friend over and play a season of Tecmo Bowl all night. Now, I rarely see that. If I see football, it is 2 hand touch playing on the street. Which is really just basketball if you think about it. I just see people either walking with their heads down playing on their phone listening to music or whatever or kids on those kinda scooter things. I dont know exact name. I don't see kids play the way I did. I once broke 2 fingers and had a badly bruised tailbone and that was in backyard football. We even had a mini playbook and audibles because you know sometimes in backyard football, they can mix up their coverage. LOL. Is he coming on 5 Mississippi's?

I talked to my oldest son about this the other day. Told him when I was a kid we were out playing sports and spending the night at friend's houses etc. These kids don't do that. Think the reason is they text and play stupid games online now with one another so why the need to see each other in person anymore?

There is no human contact anymore and it's depressing.

Your stats stat doesn't matter. What seniors aren't active, Ill bet the % of kids under five "plating a single sport" is very high and I would love to see what their definition of handicapped is if 1 out of 5 of the us population is handicapped...not that that matters, handicapped people play sports too.

Saw three guys above..... Vlad#8, Enfuego #9, and fZ #10..... I agree fully with all that stuff. Don't want to turn this into a completely "old man" rant..... but this shit is pathetic. Hell, we helped keep our parents in shape..... cause they had to strain to holler loud enough to get us in the house after dark. We would play any spot past dark and love it!

Sad, sad times right now boys!

I'm 28, my generation is the last generation that experienced being a kid without internet... going out play sports, spent all day outside. I used a walkman and a discman, a betamax as well. My brother who is 20yo dont remember those things and barely played outside, when he hit his teens it was all videogames, mp3s and blue ray. He did skateboard so at least he had that outlet to go out.

Had you pegged a bit older pocket. All my sons are older than you. And yea...... things are really pitiful for the 'little boy" generation now!

Glad you made the post. Helped me remember that my own sons were not afflicted with this "sit ass" disease that all the kids have now.

I used to have a discman in my pocket at the gym 15 years ago. Now it's an IPOD.
