There really is no decision at all. Jones is the #1 QB until he loses the position, either by injury or poor performance. Anything else and Meyer will face a team that has no trust in him at all. He has to go with what got him there, and that was Jones.

What got Ohio State there was an O-line and Ezekiel Elliott rushing for 703 yards and a 9.25 yard average vs Wisconsin, Alabama and Oregon. Unless you are a part of that team, I doubt you truly know what the psyche is. I was under the assumption that Meyer ran a competitive system, which would mean, especially considering these circumstances, all jobs are open. I'll add my personal opinion. The system Meyer runs is far more dangerous with a healthy Miller at #1. Miller>Barrett>Jones

I agree. I think the QB position is still wide open. That's why Ohio State had 90,000+ fans at the spring game. Nothing will bring out fans like a good QB battle. If you think Jones is a done deal, all you have to look at Knight for OU. Everybody thought he was the man too. Problem is Stoops didn't have anybody to take his place. Meyer does..

i watched that video and forgot how well miller ran and moved.. it has been very clear though since his departure the offensive play calling has become more diverse as far as stretching the field and the passing game as a whole. I still cant determine if that was just an evolution of the offense being completely installed, the amount of time the QB has been in the system, or an individuals strenght/weakness.

The problem is that Miller is not "healthy" now and Meyer does not have the time to wait on him, especially with two other QB's who could be better than Miller even if he is healthy. If Miller stays, that tells me that he is not healthy, and is going to try to bank on his laurels of 2013 to get him into the NFL. If he is healthy, there are many good teams that really could use him, Alabama and Georgia to name two.

Then there were two .. Good move for Miller moving to H Back for his possible professional career and the team as a whole. I don't know of a more dangerous runner in the open field then Miller, he can break ankles . I have talked about his passing limitations before the injury and I think that was a big factor before the injury ever happened. Still a tuff call to make but I think JT has the most to offer and think he is a more complete QB then Jones.

Well, if the arm isnt healed and he already wasnt the worlds best passer, Im sure Meyer being a good saleman could probably pitch him an nfl career a la Percy Harvin. This makes the circus more manageable. He's probably going to have a package for #2 just to keep all happy. But sure as Im sitting here, Im telling you right now you will be banging your heads wondering what the fuck Tim Beck is doing. Perhaps he was handcuffed under Pelini or Meyer will have him shortleashed....I can tell you he doesnt pre-chart carries for players....he does a "who needs a carry" philosophy. At times it's mad scientist and then just maddening. Good luck.

Surprised about the Miller move. He probably figures he's not an NFL QB and they talked him into playing "The Percy Position" (which is what they used to recruit these type of athletes after Percy Harvin dominated at UF). IMO, Miller is/was the best QB of the bunch. But Meyer is a hell of a coach, so I'm sure he has a plan.

Miller is the best College QB of the 3; but a Tim Tebow in NFL; has ability to be a Percy; can make it in NFL as receiver; wildcat QB; and knows this is the way to the $$$$$..

I think it is in the best interests of him making it in the NFL. Wait for an end around pass or two lol.

Urban Meyer is a fuking genius for being able to keep all 3 of his QB's in camp. Right now he is straight pistol whipping every coach in the game.

tbh I am sure as the sun is shining today Miller had limitations prior to the injury with his arm and seeing the filed the way he should. JT was like a night and day difference the way he commanded the offense but he could not run like Miller, but he wasnt bad. Jones needs to evolove more in to the position.

@ the H back Miller will join Dontre Wilson who has been hampered by injuries. They will be a nightmare for teams in the open field, Wilson was an Oregon commit out of texas who flipped to osu after Kelly left I think. Out of HS he was a 4.3 guy, since @ OSU i think his best clocked time was a 4.23 and he might be almost as good as miller in the open field but he has had some health issues. If he stays healthy their return teams will be fun to watch along with how he, miller, elliot, samuel and about 5/6 other share the touches. This will be the most talented team in the Meyer era at OSU but I dont like the high expectaions, very hard to live up to them when u are the target. Should be an interesting year to see what they can do.

Tim Beck comes from Nebraska, a program that basically died when Tom Osborne left in 1997. Bob Devany won two NC's in 1970 and 71. Osborne won 3 in 1994, 95, and 97. Nebraska did nothing before or since. So basically Nebraska is living off of it's reputation back in the 90's. some 18 years after it last won an NC. Do not put too much hope on any former Nebraska coach. They have had some good teams, but certainly no teams capable of challenging for a conference championship, much less a national championship. They have not won a conference championship in this century. If Urban keeps Beck under wraps and gets out of him what he is looking for, all will be well in Columbus.

Either that or they must be paying those guys awfully well in Columbus?

Well, he did run a shady program at Florida. I still think it's why he got out of there when he did. But the guy is still a genius. An evil genius maybe, but still a genius...

Weren't there claims that Saban was best cfg coach of all time about 2 years ago; now Urban is the guy; but fame is fleeting; I just do not see Bucks repeating this year..but hope I am wrong.

Yeah, let the TCU coach win it all this year and he will be the new "slice bread" for awhile. There are some really good coaches
in college football these days but I believe Saban and Meyer are a notch above the rest.

Coaches simply burn out, no matter how good they are. Saban may be burning out now. You can tell by some of his rather hard to believe statements of late. Meyer will probably do the same at Ohio State. These two are the two best coaches in College Football, until the next "new kid" shows up on the block. The truth of the matter is that it takes a talented bunch of athletes to compete and a talented bunch of coaches on all levels to keep these kids on the playing field instead of jail (which seems to be very popular in the SEC and Florida State) or in some juco trying to figure out how to spell their name so they can play at the next level.
