I just don't see how anyone besides thugs, family, and friends could pull for Floyd Mayweather over Pacquiao.
Pacquiao is a good guy and Mayweather is scum of the Earth.

He should be in prison right now not getting paid 200 million for a fight.

I understand people respecting his talent.
I have no problem with that.

I understand betting on him if you find value in the line and you think you can make money betting on him.

But actively pulling for the guy just because you are a fan I just don't get.

Give me Pacquiao please.

I hope he kicks ass next week.

What if someone just enjoys watching him fight and win? Not like that means they condone domestic violence.

Why does his history out of the ring have to come into it? At the end of the day it is just entertainment for 99% of the people watching.

It is two dudes with boxing gloves trying to hit each other, there isn't a larger societal meaning to it.

I think most of what we see is him selling the match. Never met him but I think he is a lot different in real life.

Don't make it personal Chop. Betting with emotions clouds judgement.

He isn't referring to his bravado, he is referring to the fact that on multiple occasions he has beat the shit out of women.

Plain and simple because he is a American citizen

No he is not. I hope he dies that night. Legal or otherwise.

I hate the Phillipino too. One once threatened me with a gun. His name was Manny too. The world is a better place if the place explodes Saturday night.

If this is the case, why would you suspend A. Peterson, G. Hardy or R. Rice?

Totally disagree with OP's statement. Saying if you are a fan of Mayweather you aren't a good person??

That's like saying no good person could root for a baseball player that used steroids, or the team that picks up Adrian Peterson because he beat a child.

Essentially the OP is saying that GOOD people can ONLY be fans of sports teams or individuals that share their moral compass. If that was the case tiger woods wouldn't the most popular golfer on the planet.

It is perfectly acceptable for the OP to dislike Mayweather for whatever reason he wants BUT he must also be willing to accept that other fans can LIKE him for whatever reason they want as well.

If I started a thread like this I would be crucified.

1. Steroids are beneficial to the game and one's health
2. The world is better if Mayweather and his entire family were executed after being tortured
3. You are crucified because you are a geek.
4. You are to stat saying you are from Kentucky, you are giving Indiana a bad name

one more week of this type of hype & everyone is going to be hating hard on mayweather. if the match comes to a decision, the judges could give it to manny, the way the judge in the nevada oj simpson case caved in to the public sentiment.

Boxing is such a joke.

Even on a sports forum, 99% of us couldnt name 5 boxers. Put this sport down or make it "anything goes, we fight until death"

You are so far off its not funny.

AP is 1/53rd of the Vikings . That's less then 2%.

Mayweather is 100% of Mayweather.

Stop comparing team sports to individual sports and please don't compare steroids to beating women. It makes you look dumb

I don't like Mayweather at all.. I'm betting on him because I think he will win or if he wins I get something out of it... The way I see it something good will happen with this fight.. I make some money or this prick loses..took the same approach with Bush 2nd term prop.. something good will happen either way.

Why does his history have to come into who you root for was my response. If people want to watch the fight and roof for him because they like him more as a fighter I don't really see how that is as mind boggling as the OP.

Getting reprimanded is a totally different issue.

I just think it's up to each person's personal preference. Guys beating their girls doesn't make me stop watching the NFL. I don't respect those guys and hope they fail miserably but other people might cheer for them.

I really don't see though how you can think the guy is a scumbag wife beater but like him as a fighter? The two can't be separated right?

To each his own though.
