I have two equal surprises ....

Bud Dupree and Malcom Brown falling to as low as they did.

Great pickups by the Steelers and Patriots for getting some nice players to fill their needs immediately.

Cleveland taking Shelton at 12 and then drafting a center next.
Washington taking Scherff over Leonard Williams.
Randy Gregory not getting drafted.

I love the reasoning. To protect RG 3 up the middle. The guy has 10 starts total in him for his career left.

Bengals drafting a lineman with a torn ACL

Bengals were in a tough spot in the draft, as they really didn't have any HUGE needs, so they could afford to gamble on what could be a great stand out player... but I do agree, taking someone off a huge injury is a huge gamble. But, Willis McGahee turned out pretty well when he was drafted in the 1st round back in 2003.

Lets hope he has a career like he did after a huge injury

Why was this a surprise to you?

Anything with the Browns shouldn't be a surprise. Not a lot of value taking him a 2 down player at 12. It's a position that seems to be phasing out. Thought for sure they would go Davante Parker with that pick. Viewed him more as a low end first round, possibly 2nd rd pick.

Dante Fowler also got way over drafted. With all the pre-draft talk of him going to Jacksonville nullifies the surprise. If you're going to take a pass rusher that high, I would think you want one with elite tools.

You don't watch much PAC-12 Football do you?

Guy is the premier run stuffer in the nation. Had what? 9 sacks and 16 tackles for losses. The Browns can't stop the run so this is their answer. They drafted the best run stuffer in the draft. He clogs the middle. And...he's a hell of a good guy and student of the game. The Browns got a great pick and guy in this position.

Rams taking a running back at 10. Guy coming off an injury with a terrible line and a qb coming off an injury. They may be the worst offense in the NFL next year.

Colts don't have another starter at safety at this point. Hope Landon Collins falls. He is more of a run stuffer then pass coverage but the Colts get ran on so much. Maybe he be the difference maker like Bob Sanders.

Never knocked him as a player. It more has to do with positional value much more than talent. Same reason you draft a wr over a rb.

Think they drafted the best player on their board and it's definitely a "need" for them. Lineman are never sexy picks.

I don't hate the colts pick though like alot of others. Short quick fast guy who will make plays on bubble screens and crossing routes. Will get that 1st down on 3rd and 6. I think the 6'4" 220 pound receivers are overated anymore. Unless Calvin Johnson, most are more slow, cant get seperation, a little slower, and since you cant hit high anymore, more chance of knee injury with bigger target.

Dorial Green-Beckham will be the steal of the draft. I'm a little surprised he didn't go in the first round. I'll be very surprised if he isn't one of the first 7 or 8 chosen tonight. From what I've heard this kid has cleaned up his act and has a family now. By far the most talented WR in the draft. But these NFL teams are obviously reluctant to take him based on his past...

To each there own. The no. 12 pick is slotted to sign a 4 year $10.5m deal. The value of taking a NT that high is below that of taking a wr. Hopefully these charts posts legibly.
