30,000 attend police funeral

In NY, some 30,000 cops attended the funeral of a dead cop. My heart goes out to his family, but in no way should all this money be used to have all these cops in one place. His life is no different then the man down the street.

So a man who chooses to put his life on the line everyday to protect those in his community, doesn't deserve anything?

I think its awesome. Since its not mandatory to attend a funeral it shows how much he was respected

It's not like these guys are gettin OT for going. Some are volunteering, some are going for future time off. It depends on thier particular Union agreement.

Don't know if anyone has ever been but it's an awe inspiring experience.....really amazing to be there in person.

First off Seaford Long Island and the towns around it are Huge Police & Firemen living areas.... Also the 30,000 Cops that showed up are from ALL OVER NY...City, Long Island, UpState, Towns, etc.. ( Even from outside of NY )
Schools were even Closed Today because..... The Color BLUE is a Family, there are 100's of Thousands of them from all over the Country. When one of their own goes down in that Family they come out to support .... They don't go Looting Stores or Burn down Buildings.

So if that " Man down the Street " had such a Large and Strong Family... I guess he would have that many come to support him too.

I will respectfully disagree with you. Cop, fire, armed force ect.... are absolutely different then anyone down the street. They put their life on the line to protect you and me.
