Not really, basically it's the same except at Borgata in NJ and Mohegan Sun in CT, because they both deal/Comp with Points
The more you play, the more points you earn... simple ... But if I want a Limo at Borgata, it cost me 600 points each way ( goes by distance )
So when you stay there, your Food is taken from your points ( Rooms are always Free )

When I go to the Mirage... I get RFB, plus a Limo and any shows at a MGM place. and of course I need to play. But at my level, and game of choice ( Craps ) they know I couldn't stand there for 4-6 hours and get Crushed... and I won't. I set a Limit per Day. once that money is gone for the day... and it doesn't matter to me if it only took me 1 hour to lose X amount
I'm done for that day.
My Host will always ask me if I'm done for the night, and of course say ... maybe if you play a little more, you will get it back. LOL
But she doesn't push it. because she knows I'm not a Pig with Comps.

M resort takes the best care of me by far and is my goto casino anymore. Silverton and Southpoint give me great offers but i usually decline unless i'm staying for an extended time(4 or more days), just to switch up the scenery.

I'll also add that players shouldn't bounce around from casino to Casino

I know you do Key... and probably just because each place will limit you on what they will give you. and I'm sure you are not a pig about the Comps

Have a semi friend much bigger than me... but he brings like his whole family with him... Wife, 2 daughters and his Mother in law, that's 5 People !

Limo, 2 suites, 1 Room for Mother in law and Food for all. oh and a Cabana every day... I have eaten with them plenty of times and on Avg. a dinner bill is $1500
All Comped ... but he can't get more than 4 days at the Wynn/Encore, so he bounces over to another Hotel for 3 days

again Much higher player, but his Comps don't add up to his play, so he needs to use two Hotels for a week vacation.

I've stayed at the Mirage for up to 10 days, Avg. is 8 days

BAS,,,you"re right i do bounce around a bit from time to time but one thing i try and do is stay within boyd gaming properties.Orleans is my home base casino but i'll hit Goldcoast,Sam's town and if i get downtown i'll hit the boyd places there.

I just recently stayed at Silverton in march for 3 days as they gave me good comps and i have not spent too much time there at all before. So i did use it and i really like it there, except for the sportsbook as its small and they have rinkey dink odds boards in both corners, not to exciting there in the book either as nobody is really cheering about the games and hootin and hollarin as the action goes on,so thats the only down part there.

South point is another one ill go to as i like it there and they have a good book and some good lines there. They have good places to eat there also and the VP is pretty decent there to.

all i all i do most of my gambling at Orleans though cause thats were they will track me the most and i get treated very well there and you are also right,i'm not a pig on comps as i get some food comped(BUT NOT ALL)my rooms comped all the time and as you know i don't drink so they save on that part,LOL,..

I play on avg. 3 hours a day, unless the table is still Hot. The most I've ever stayed at a table was 5 hours, everyone that night made $$$$$$

as far as your other questions, rather not say. But I am a platinum MLife card holder with Noir Benefits
Only go twice a year now, use to be 3-4 times a year.

Keyman,

I would think it had to do when they got hooked up in the whole Harrah's crap-fest.

I believe Harrah's was the first to come up with the whole "loyalty card" stuff. Seemed like they wanted people to have a card like a damn gas station..... probably mostly to please the blue-haired old ladies on the slots.

Used to be the floor people knew your account number..... so stack em up..... you're good to go!

Another major reason to miss the good old days. We're not in Kansas anymore.
I used to stay trip after trip at The Mirage. Back when everything was green and tropical inside. Back when Steve was still in charge. Everything was always tip-top. Really a great and comfortable place to hang out and play! (My opinion)

Betall....

For some reason that whole "card" crap always hit me a little bit the wrong way. I understand the "Hey....everybody can get something" thing Harrah's thought was cool. Even understand how they think they are maximizing their profit. Points for a slice of pizza, or whatever?????? Just reminds me too much of the Little League "everybody gets a trophy" type thing. Seems like they would have enough good sense to treat the real players (which obviously you are one) a different way. Just my preference for the old way... I know. Those days are gone.

I bet we could laugh our asses off for quite some time telling stories.

I used to go quite often. Don’t even know how many times a year. But when you talk about 8 days…. spooks me a little. That many days used to seem a long time to me. Of course even as a younger man…… stacking em up at the BJ table till 4 am…… then heading out to Shadow to play golf first tee time of the morning…… could get tiresome.

You know the old drill..... just get picked up at the airport... check in at VIP Services....... live it up...... all done! I can hear Archie and Edith singing it now!

PACKER,i believe you may be right about that harrahs thing.I used to stay at harrah's all the time,no problems, all good then the one year i called to make my arrangements it was like they never heard of me before,so that's when i went with boyd gaming and have no problems at all,..i mean there is still some haggling to do once in a while but for the most part all is good there.

another thing that i could never figure out about them was,i never received offers to atlantic city and they are connected with vegas and i found that really odd.

yes times have really changed for the players big time and if your a table player then forget about it as you really earn nothing there.you have to be a slot player to make out well and i for one can't play slots,i play VP and that the only machine that you will find me playing

Yea Keyman..... those shitheels would plow all the tables under along with the sportsbook...... if people would stand for it. The "suits" would have an all out damn slot parlor if they could.

I remembered you were a VP player. No slots, of course.... as you said. Shows your superior intellect..... which you also show in all your interaction with the forum.

I always felt like the advent of the “please present your players card” baloney was “the beginning of the end” of real first class treatment for bigger table games players. You know…. I mean REAL players…… but not Kerry Packer types.

For years after Shadow Creek opened…. up until a few years after Bellagio…… when Steve Wynn was still the Man at Mirage Corporation……. They really had something special with Shadow. Hell….. Steve lived out there. Super, super private. Now any hammerhead with $500 bucks can make a tee time.

Back then Mirage had REAL personal customer service. Card what? Who cares?

yea i remember it well when steve wynn ran the mirage,he is a hell of a nice guy and knew how to treat not only his people but everyone he came in contact with on the casino floor.i talked with him a few times as im friends with Seigfried&(ROY,god bless his soul and he's really down to earth......i was also in the mirage the day they caught those bastards that took his daughter and they announced it over the casino pager that they were caught and in custody,..and the place went crazy in a good way of course and it was a good time for all that night

For any casino, "Best Value" must be where you can earn money, as opposed to give your money away. For that, Stations and Boyd are much easier to find value than MGM or CES. Plenty of VP plays any time you want at either -- even if only worth $6 per hour. Black jack rules are the same, but Stations is much better and finding good penetration. Sports it depends what you like. If you don't mind sitting in the book all day, Stations is good on a college football Saturday waiting to find better than market price on dogs and unders. I much prefer the payouts on parlays at Coast, five teams, +2500 on weak lines is +EV almost every weekend for football. So I'll vote them, just because that's what I like to play

But if you're going to bet high, the Big Strip Casino's are always going to be where you can get your money down. There are those stories of card counters spreading to two hands of $30,000, video poker players playing 99.54% games with 0.7% cash back for $125 per spin. A few years ago I was playing parlays at Caesars that paid back $35,000 each. Played about 20 of them between myself and one other and think most of them hit (games went 19-2 or something). Really wish I was being paid a percentage, rather than a flat fee to make those bets
