Will the Rangers be home dogs if they make the finals?

Rangers won the Presidents trophy so they're guaranteed home ice in the finals. Would they be the dogs in the series against either the Hawks or Ducks? I think they would. Has the Presidents trophy winner ever been the dog in the finals?

I think slight favorite over Chicago because of home ice and a little more of a favorite over Anaheim.

Really? Anaheim is 9-1 in the playoffs right now and finished #1 in the West. Is see Rangers being a pickem at best against Anaheim, but maybe a small favorite against the Hawks.

No way are they going to be dogs against whomever comes from the west. They went 18-5-5 against the West including 2-0 against the Ducks & 1-1 vs the Blackhawks.

Wrong.

ANA or CHI would be favored over NYR even with the home ice, probably in the -125 range.

CHI was favored over ANA in this series and ANA had home ice.

I agree it will be a pickem at best. LA in 2012 was the favorite against the east and they were an 8 seed.

I disagree as look at current books before the start of the conference finals & the Rangers were the favorite to win the cup. So with knowing that, how in the world could you think they would be an underdog in the finals?

NY sports on fire, NY rangers chance at the cup, yanks and mets 1st place, possible triple crown at Belmont
and yes rangers will be slight dogs to win the series, but not dogs at home

Agreed. And can Ranger fans really complain about getting a good number if they're gamblers? I picked the Rangers pre playoffs to win it all. I'm sticking with that. I think it will be Ducks Rangers, in a very close series.

Because they are more favored to win this round.

Oddsmaker can't make ANA or CHI too prohibitive because either one of them could knock the other out very easily.

If NYR are more likely to be alive after the conf finals, they are a shorter price to win it all. That doesn't mean they will be favored in the finals.

If you don't understand this, I don't know what to tell ya.

I will, however, make a wager with you that SHOULD the nyr make the finals they will not be favored.
