Shortly before Labor Day of 2014 I started a running program to build up my stamina and a general physical workout. Each day since or every other day in some instances I have ran two to three miles even during the winter months and now in my nine month I can roughly estimate my progress at 500 miles and counting. My weight has remained under 180 pounds and my over all muscle tone is greatly improved. I never thought I would stick with it as long as I have and I do feel a certain sense of accomplishment. Marathons and 5 K's will probably never be in the future but I am content with my every day run or getting in my road work as a boxer might label it. Vitamins, bananas, ritz crackers and water have been my best friends so will have to include them in the praise. So there it is RX Land it is out there if you are willing to work for it. Some self determination and some discipline is all that you need to start a road to better health one day and one step at a time.

Good job dude. I'm an avid runner, usually run around 2,000-3,000 miles/year. I've been battling injuries the last two years and haven't broken 2000 miles the last 2 years though (around 1650 both years). I'm running my 18th marathon in June, so I've been getting in around 55-60 mpw the last 8 weeks or so.

Just take care of your knees! Consistency makes it a lot easier too!

Kudos to you, jb, and coach. Takes tremendous discipline to stay with a workout program. I go on and off. Off right now. You guys might just inspire me to get back with it.

Keep it going.

not a fan of running even though back in HS I was on the track team. Plus you get older ( like Wilbur ) :)

anyway... I recently got into walking. Not talking about a walk in the park... you need to pick up the pace, get your Heart rate going ....
Has worked great, I will walk 4-5 times a week and doing 2 1/4 miles each time. Feel so much better...

Now I just need to quit Smoking :)

one day :)

I just started a month ago, but plan on adding as time goes on.
Will be using the treadmill this week, because I won't be walking here in Florida, because it's fuking too Hot !
Even though you can see thousands walking every day back and forth Ocean drive and over the bridges...

Anyway, the op seems to have it down packed... being Healthier and doing what works for you. I'm all for that... Great Job all around.
