Kind of interesting as the general public (non gamblers) seem to think Pete should be in the HOF. Conversely, most people who gamble seem to think he should not. May be simplistic but I think gamblers realize that wagering is difficult enough without having to deal with some guy betting on or against his own team (managing or playing) knowing something we don't. I think Pete has been lying for so long he has difficulty remembering the truth from fiction. He lied to Mike Schmidt, Joe Morgan and Johnny Bench for years about his gambling and they believed him. They were pretty pissed off when he did he 'mea culpa' in 2004.
