I NEVER comment on racial issues on this forum, but it's to the point where I can't keep my mouth shut any longer. Far too many times Obama has done or said something that does nothing but make racial tensions and hatred worse.

Maybe we now realize the way a racial bias can infect us even when we don’t realize it so that we’re guarding against not just racial slurs but we’re also guarding against the subtle impulse to call Johnny back for a job interview but not Jamal…

It's actually a reference to a study done by a Harvard sociology professor who did research and experiments and found that employers are more likely to call back people with "white sounding names" than "black sounding names". It goes in to lengths about how some black people are named Johnny and some white people are named Jamal.

Although, I'll admit it was a stupid thing to say without adding that context to it.
