I know it's too early to put him above many of the legends that some of us have grown up to see.

But if he stays on Track .... Could he be the Best of the Best ?

I like the kid, but no way in fucks sake should he win the MVP last night. You go 1-3 with a solo blast in the first inning and you are the MVP?

might be the first .333 hitter to win it, guess they didn't want to give it to Cain, a unknown... smaller market KC Royal

Closest competition is Harper. Harper is actually starting to mature and he is maturing FAST. His attitude and game is getting better at an alarming rate over Trout. They are both young and it will be an interesting feud on how they both progress. In the mean time you'll have other young stars emerging to compete with their talents. These guys will be around for a long time to come.

I'd have to say he Could he be among the Best of the Best but I'm real biased because the dude has literally singlehandedly won (at least) 3 bets for me this season alone....maybe 4....and not a matter of him contributing but I mean him making one or more insane catches in the outfield then in at least one of those Homering as well. But that aside, objectively...I'd say "yes" that Him, Harper and even Kris Bryant have a much better than average chance of winding up among the best of the best.

I worry about Harper having a short career.

He just plays too hard.

Hes Pete Rose with power.

Runs into walls at 100MPH.

Slides head first into bases.

The guy just gives it his all every game.

If we're talking best all around player of the current era, it's clearly Trout. The guy is just a freak, and can beat you every way possible. Harper has been great this year, and is the one guy who could close the gap if he can stay healthy and find consistency.

Unquestionably one of the five best players in all of MLB every single year starting at age 20, arguably the very best every single year for four years straight years now. Who else in history has ever done that regardless of age? Best 21st century players are A-Rod and Pujols, then Ichiro, then who? Cabrera? Cano? Hernandez? Kershaw? Unless there are major injuries I don't see how he can fall so far as to not at least equal those guys

Agree with this, but to me pitchers are in a completely separate category. Also, if we're going to take defense into account, nobody today can come close to the all around game of Trout. Out of those position players you named, A-rod for a while was in the same class as an all-around player when he played SS. Pujols and Cabrera are great hitters, but are one-dimensional. Ichiro is one of my all time favorite players, but doesn't have the power numbers. Assuming Trout continues the path he's on, he's in the class with Mays, Aaron, and Mantle. These guys are the true 5-tool players.

Yup. Thats now 4 may be 5 games he's singlehandedly won for Angels and these are just the ones I know of cuz I had bet Angels. There may be more.

If Seattle ever wakes up and/or Astros can keep playing as they have and/or the Rangers get hot these 4, 5 or whatever # of games easily could be what get Angels to postseason compared to without these wins not advancing.

I've never had anything even close to a single player being responsible for me winning a play on this many occasions in a whole season and this season is only half way thru and this guy has, single handedly, himself now been the reason I cashed on 4 may be 5 separate occasions.

Especially Huge tonight cuz on or against Red Sox I lose, like, 74% or more of those plays.

If a guy had been the reason for me cashing TWO TIMES within a whole year, historically, I'd have considered that "freaky" and here it is just 1/2 way thru the season and this Trout guy has done it 4 maybe 5 times already.

Bizarre, man.

Fukkin what the hell got into MILEY tonight?

Looked like Miley on the mound, scragglyass but sure pitched a hell of a lot better than the regular Miley.

I want the Lame Incompetent Sucky Miley back.

I don't like this new and improved Miley at all.
