What do you want out of him? 110 pitches and 7 innings of no hit ball.

There aren't that many "finishers" out there today in terms of finishing games. I don't think it's some big indictment against him.

I'm a gambler. Finishers get premium consideration. Lester isn't one of them. Tonight was the first game this year that he went beyond seven innings.

Well, with pitch counts being a huge concern, there aren't many finishers these days. Complete games are rare. Unfortunately mlb is decided by 7th and 8th inning guys that are specialists and probably should be pitching in Pawtucket

The best go beyond seven innings in at least half their starts. Lester isn't one of them.

Maybe the top 10 pitchers in baseball but most don't have Lester as one of those. He's probably in the 13-20 range of best pitchers. Guy is pretty solid and an ace for some teams and no less than a number 2 on the majority of teams.
