Looking for a good casino off the strip to stay at for 1 week. Going in Nov. will have a rental and want to see what life is like away from the strip. Will be spending most of the time driving around looking for potential housing when move out there.

You could try the Silverton. You have the South Point and M hotels close by and all have good restaurants and the SP has the famous hot dog cart.

Silvey is right off the 15 and easy in and out...can park close to the casino (front) or hotel rooms (in the back). Decent gaming and ok food too. They just opened a new noodle joint.

Other good options IMO would be the Orleans or SouthPoint (both bigger than Silverton).

As mentioned, South Point, The M, and Silverton all good options.

If you want to be in the Henderson area, you could also go with Green Valley Ranch or Sunset Station. GVR on the higher end as far as price goes.

My personal favorite off Strip place is The Red Rock. It's out in Sumerlin. But if you are out there looking at Real Estate, you are probably going to wanna check out Sumerlin anyway. Sumerlin > Henderson IMO.

Red Rock and GVR too expensive especially since I will only need a bed to stay in.

One thing nice about the Silverton is it's not a large casino and it doesn't take long to get to wherever you want to be in the casino. Having the big aquarium is a very nice feature.

I just got an email from them saying they have August rooms for $39 weekday and 59$ weekends. Use SUM2015 as you code.

I live in Henderson so I’m biased but Fiesta and Sunset are excellent choices.

Fiesta is small but rooms right now are $29. Sunset is a lot larger and right across from Galleria mall.

The Green Valley area is where you want to live if your going to move to Henderson.

Dave-I'm leaning now towards Hawthorne Suites, if you know anything about it. How far is Henderson from the strip and do you have any info about living in Henderson? How is crime, and real estate like?

Id stay at Sunset, price is decent with everything you need close, expressway is beside you so easy access to different parts of town, just hop on, Henderson area is a good area to search for a house
