Start having security at movie theaters and people will start shooting up malls. Start securing the malls and people will start massacres at car washes. Start securing car washes and people will start unloading in restaurants. See where I'm going with this?

I have a Master's degree in Homeland Security. In many of my classes discussions about ways terrorist groups could hit the US. There are so many soft targets out there: movie theaters, Starbucks, sporting events/concerts/arenas, schools, mass transit systems/subways, shopping malls, etc.

Imagine that a terrorist group goes to the 7pm showing of an opening night big-hit movie (Batman, Marvels, etc) in 4 cities (say, Boston, NYC, DC, and Philly) and at 7:45pm they all set off some sort of bomb or shoot up the place. NO ONE would go to the movies for quite a while.

Imagine they do the same thing in those 4 cities at a Starbucks at 8:02am during the morning coffee rush. NO ONE would go to a coffee shop for a while.

It would define the term "terrorism".

we need security at the RX.

Agreed, minimum IQ in order to post as much as JC posts should be 95, sorry JC. IQ's below 60 (like JC) should be allowed to post maximum once a day at the offshore.

You can still pollute the political forum and the RR with your retardness if you like.

Symptom vs. Illness - you need better gun control

Out of the last few incidents how many have been terrorists & how many of be a regular citizen? It is crazy and sad I hope your country can figure it out. I have a lot of respect for the USA but when you don't feel safe in a public what has happened to your freedom.

Better experience at home to watch movies especially if you have a pretty good system at home.. Don't need to be in a uncomfortable seat with excess noise breathing everyone else's germs, eating $8 bag of popcorn and a $4 coke doesn't add to the experience either...

The problem is that doesn't solve the big picture. So now we start staying at home for sporting events and other activities because of fear of terrorism or other crazies? This is a big problem with this country right now.

Our country is turning into a police state anyway, & shootings like what we've seen lately & years past will only tighten the screws on security in the US.

The govt will try to disarm its citizens within several years, but I can't see Americans giving up their rights to arms.

We are living in a heightened state of paranoia......& I thank social media for this, as they bombard us with the same negative stories 24/7.

I disagree 100 percent

I love the movie theatre experience, everything about it. I've been going since I was a child with my father and I will be going with my kids someday. If you are going to one that smells and has uncomfortable seats then you are visiting thw wrong theatres. Cinemark xd 3d is amazing. We have one recently built where i live. Pretty dissapointing that we now have to consider being murdered while there, even if the chance is remote. Our parents never even had to consider that possibility

I'm much more concerned about our homegrown American crazies than I am terrorists like Isis. Aurora, Columbine, Sandy Hook, Oklahoma City, McDonald's, Luby's, Virginia Tech, SIKH Temple, and now Lafayette, all American hits. But the media keeps emphasizing the terrorist angle, which is much fewer and farther between.

You are statistically more likely to be shot by the police than both terrorist and American crazies combined, that's how rare both of these are.

IF....IF...."gun control" is implemented by the Left, I'd love to know what "they" would like to happen. No way you're disarming Americans. No way you're preventing Americans from buying guns. States like Maryland have limited the size of gun clips/magazines you can buy. Cities like NYC, Chicago, and DC have plain violated the 2nd Amendment and banned guns. I imagine the south, Alaska, and some of the Wyoming's & Montana's (hunting states) will be the only places you can buy/own guns within the next 20 years. Basically, piece by piece, the Left is focusing on their "agenda of the day" and then they move on to the next agenda item (gay rights, global warming, guns, erase US history/southern history, war on police, etc).

People don't seem to get that the Democrats like their guns just as much as the Republicans. We've had a thousand incidents of shootings while Obama has been in office and nothing has been done. And nothing will ever be done unless we have a joint venture between both parties. And i suspect that the only thing that could possibly get the ball rolling is if we have a mass single incident killing. I'm talking about 200 or 300 people or more at one time. It usually takes something on a massive scale like a 911 or similar before they break down and start implementing any new laws or regulations...

Sure...but what are we talking about? What "new laws" or "regulations"? I'm all in favor of a background check. But what does "gun control" consist of?

That's the million dollar question. I'm a Dem, but I like my gun as much as the next fella. The key is it would have to be something both parties could agree on. And nothing brings both parties together like a disaster on a massive scale. They are 200 years too late to eliminate guns, so it would have to be some other types of regulations...

Forget Gun Control.

3 things you can never get rid of.....

1-Drugs
2-Alcohol
3-Guns

Keep hearing the same shit after a tragedy.....Let`s get the guns off the streets...LOL.

With America becoming a war zone with these senseless mass murders.......More and more Americans are going to carry guns to defend themselves.

It`s a lost cause.....Guns are here to stay!
