$ 500 two strike survivor pool

2nd year, 1st year was very successful with all winners paid promptly, we're hoping to grow the pool from 12 to 20+ teams

we will nominate and approve of co-treasurers, with no single treasurer holding more than 5 entries plus his own entry ($ 3,000 total)

2 strikes means you get two losses, you're still alive after one loss

payouts will be something like

60% to first place
20% to second place
20% to last unbeaten team (which means somebody could win as much as 80%)

if we have 20 entries

$ 6,000
$ 2,000
$ 2,000

payout breakdown is not official

I wanted in last year, but didn't join because it seemed the contest was rushed and the rules weren't solid.

We have plenty of time to get money collected and agree on rules. I think posting a set of proposed rules for a week until we can eliminate loopholes and trouble spots, this has potential to be a great contest.

Got to start posting this again .... not a knock on the op. Just needs to be posted

Financial transactions between posters......

Please proceed with extreme caution and operate at your own risk when dealing with other Rx posters privately, especially in financial matters. The Rx.com does not endorse any posters that solicit other posters for loans or transfers, or wagering events between yourselves and cannot vouch for any posters that attempt to procure loans, funds for private contests, funds for private wagers or transfers from other posters for any reason anywhere on this site.

Financial transactions between posters are extremely risky and The Rx. advises the use of the most serious caution before making any kind of financial transaction with another poster. The Rx.com itself cannot be held responsible when posters fail trying to recover funds loaned, transferred or wagered with or to other posters under any circumstances.

Unless you personally know a poster or one is vouched for you by someone you highly trust you should be very hesitent to conduct unsecured financial business with posters that you meet on this any other forum.

I cannot over emphasize how dangerous it is to bet or loan or transfer money with or to complete stangers and expect to be paid in the end. I am not saying all posters are dishonest but utmost caution needs to be practiced whenever posters deal with each others privately, especially in regards to financial matters. The Rx.com cannot help mediate disputed wagers, contests or debts between private parties..

Caveat Emptor - let the buyer beware..

Thank you, The RX Mod Team

I'm in but I don't have the time to collect money this year.

We are going to have to agree to find some trustworthy holders of money in addition to Willie99

Willie99 is a good choice to hold the money. Hopefully BAS joins and maybe will hold the money. Sharky99 is another poster I trust to hold the cash if he joins.

I'd get in again, but it happens every year in every pool that someone doesn't submit a pick then it's hard feelings and BS whether or not to make an exception. The best way to avoid the controversy that always seems unfair to someone is to use a host site that allows for the option that if a player has not submitted a pick by the deadline, the system autoselects the largest pointspread favorite the person has available. Whether you had a more pressing matter to take of, just forget to submit, or thought you did but maybe forget to hit enter, you get autoselected and still have a fighting chance even if it wasn't your ordeal pick. It saves the commissioner a pain in the ass, it keeps the online tally correct because there is no exceptions to account for, and nobody feels like someone was treated preferentially or unfairly.

I am sure there are others, but the site I am familiar with that permits that option is runyourpool. I have used them and have never had a problem. For a pool with less than 50 players, it cost 30 bucks. That's not as good as free, but relative to the size of the pot here, it is nothing. They also have the option that ties count as a win or ties count as a loss as well as some other pool options. That way it is clear from the start.

Maybe I won't get my first strike in week 1 this year.

I say keep the same website. People have all week to select , it really is no excuse not to get your play in time.

If a player wait till last second to get your play in then that player should realize the risk. I personally had all my picks in by thurs last year and if i needed to change it later in the week then i did it.

Thats just my opinion, but if everone want to vote im fine with it.

So far look like 10 is in now- atleast verbally. Who wants to get things started as far as collecting and setting up the website?

agree w/ Local - I like Yahoo b/c it's easy to remember to go there. maybe some rich guys forget to make a $500 pool pick, but I am with Local - I make it early so I don't forget, then change as week goes on

decide who is collecting payments?
