The trade rumors surrounding Los Angeles Dodgers right fielder Yasiel Puig have reportedly been put to rest. For now, at least.

According to ESPN, the Dodgers placed Puig on waivers last week, and pulled him back off waivers after the 24-year-old outfielder was claimed by another team.

While this is normal activity for a club, as most players are placed on revocable waivers after the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline, it signifies that Puig will not be traded for the remainder of the season, as a team can only place a player on revocable waivers once per season.

Puig is having a rough third season in the majors for the Dodgers this year.

In 65 games, the right fielder has hit .241/.314/.409 with eight home runs and 29 RBI, notching as many strikeouts (56) as hits in the process.
