And while Manchester City meet Chelsea in the biggest game of the weekend, the best betting opportunities lie elsewhere.
Here's a look at the Prem's best value bets for fixtures taking place from Friday to Monday.

Manchester United began the season with a win but an unconvincing performance against Tottenham. The Red Devils needed a Kyle Walker own goal to claim all three points, and there was little in United's display that suggested manager Louis van Gaal has a master plan for resolving the multiple tactical and selection issues that the club's summer spending spree has presented. United are a work in progress, as they were for much of last season, so it could be some time before they're at their best. Aston Villa began the season with a 1-0 win over newly promoted Bournemouth. Villa featured impressive individual performances from some of their new faces, notably French pair Jordan Amavi and Jordan Veretout, who were composed and influential at left-back and in midfield, respectively. A win could be beyond the hosts, but they look solid and coherent enough to trouble their overvalued visitors.

During Swansea's draw at Chelsea (2-2) last weekend, it was the quality of their attacking play that caught the eye. What stood out about Andre Ayew's opening goal was how far forward into the penalty area the Ghanaian was at a relatively early stage in the game, summing up the energy and drive of a player who could prove one of the summer's smartest signings. Teammate Bafetimbi Gomis might lack finesse, but he also got off the mark (from the penalty spot) and will trouble Newcastle's defenders thanks to his physique and power. I would expect these two sides to trade attacking blows rather than sitting back, as Newcastle were also more effective in attack than defence in their draw (2-2) against Southampton last weekend.

West Ham brushed aside the concerns that followed their recent Europa League exit by producing a terrific performance at Arsenal last weekend (2-0 victory). One of the architects of their unexpected win was Dimitri Payet, their £10.7 million summer signing from French club Marseille. Payet has tremendous skill, can operate equally effectively on the left wing or as a central playmaker and has everything to play for this season, as he's looking to pin down a place in France's squad for the Euro 2016 tournament they host next summer. With Payet set to take centre stage again, the odds-against price on West Ham is worth supporting given how they performed last weekend.

Hopes were high that this could be Arsenal's season after their 1-0 Community Shield win over Chelsea a fortnight ago. But there was a demoralising sense of deja vu for Gunners fans when Arsenal lost 2-0 at home to West Ham last weekend. Defensively, the Gunners were poor, and you wonder to what extent their confidence will have been affected by that unexpected defeat in which £11 million goalkeeper Petr Cech was one of several players who underperformed. Crystal Palace began the campaign brightly, winning 3-1 at promoted Norwich City, and coach Alan Pardew and his players will be confident they can add to Arsenal's misery this weekend. Selhurst Park can be a difficult place for visiting sides when Palace and their fans are on song.

Monday[/h][h=2]Liverpool vs. Bournemouth[/h]

Liverpool laid a few ghosts to rest with their 1-0 win at Stoke City last weekend. The same fixture last season ended with a 6-1 defeat for the Reds, so their victory will be worth more than three points for some of the players. The question now is whether Liverpool can build on that win. Even though theirs was far from an outstanding performance last weekend, Liverpool should be strong enough to beat a Bournemouth side still learning all about football at this level. Bournemouth lost 1-0 at home to Aston Villa on Saturday, and it is hard to see them containing a Liverpool attack that ought to be more potent at home than it was on the road last week.
