I used to be able to come here and get some smart math folks to answer these questions for me. Lets see if this I can get any halp with this one.

Lets say i have 50 apples. 20 of the 50 apples have a worm in them. What are the odds of you picking up 5 straight wormless apples.

Please show your work.

30/50 wormless = 60%

So the first one is 60%

29/49 = 59.18% on down the line

28/48

Basically a 5 team parlay at the estimated odds of 60%, 59.18%, 3rd, 4th, 5th spots

.6 x .5918 x 3rd x 4th x 5th spot = answer

Without doing it all out it'll be like 7%-ish. You can do it out if you want.

Patsfan is correct in his method

(30/50)*(29/49)*(28/48)*(27/47)*(26/46) = 6.7%

This is assuming you are not putting the apple back after you pick it up. If you were putting the apple back into the pile each time it would be

(0.6)^5 = 7.8%
