Notice how none of Trump's wives were American citizens. I think it's safe to say that he DOES believe in bringing in immigrants to do the job NO AMERICAN wants to do! w-thumbs!^ LMFAO

I see absolutely NOTHING has changed in this forum over the last year. Still tons of delirious far right wingnuts who actually believe someone like Trump or Cruz can win a general election. Glad I haven't wasted much time here and instead spent it building my business. But it's always fun to come back and laugh for awhile...

TRUMP or CRUZ or Huckabee (or many others) would get absolutely DESTROYED in a general election. At this point the ONLY candidate on the right that I think can actually WIN the general election is Kasich. He's the only one that can pull enough IND votes and some DEM ones too.

Trump is a good show, no doubt about it. But that's all it is. He can't even come close to winning a general election as the repub candidate. He COULD win the nomination, but I doubt it. It's VERY early and the powers that be will make sure he doesn't win. They know damn well that the Clintons would destroy him.

The time is here for a REAL STRONG independent candidate. I think you might see one emerge next summer. No idea who it could be but it's obvious that the majority of the country wants a non-politician. Trump is not the answer though. WAY too divisive. That NEVER wins a general election.

Should be interesting...

Pretty much agree, especially the part about Trump's chances(but, if Marla Maples is a foreigner, it's news to me). The aforementioned wingnuts are spraying their shorts over him, ignoring the fact that, among other things, he is running out of minorities to insult(and it's not like Hispanics and Asians went for the Republicans last time around to begin with). They will be blindsided, yet again, just as many of them were in the last 2 general elections.

Keep dreaming...

I don't HAVE to dream, Numbnuts, my predictions for the last 2 general elections is a matter of record-a PERFECT matter of record, even getting the electoral votes right last time. Clueless righty clowns like yourself...not so much.

You would think the embarrassing past forecasting of these righties would shut them up.....but nope....they speak with the same confidence they did in years past. They will look stupid again and then turn around and do it again in 4 years. It has become tradition.

I wonder if all political forums have more people making predictions as opposed to discussion of why they support or oppose one candidate or another, which is obviously more important. Maybe because this is a gambling forum the posts tend to be more about forecasting than talking about who we support and why.

I think that's probably part of it (the gambling angle), Scott. I think there's some "discussion" as well. But overall I think there's just a HUGE majority that are FIRMLY on one side or the other. The country is pretty polarized right now...BUT...I think Trump has proven that if a true independent comes along who doesn't act like a dickhead, and isn't a "politician", they could definitely win a POTUS election. I can easily see some "outsider" gaining 35-40% of the vote. The next question becomes can they win enough "electoral" votes.

I have no clue who, but I honestly think an ind. is gonna come to the table in like early summer of 2016. For the political junkies it could be one of the most interesting elections in history. I'd like to see it just so it slaps both parties upside the head!

LMAO...Dude this isn't some sports record. SMH...You guys don't get it. It's not about ideological shit either. This is a MATH problem.

In 1988 GWB got 59% of the white vote and kicked ass. 24 Years later, Romney got 59% of the white vote and got his ass kicked. Sitting prez presiding over a shitty economy. All "normal" political views say given that, Romney should of won going away. He got destroyed. Wasn't even close. Why? Because the electorate is changing BIG TIME. The "minorities" have been having a shitload more kids than the conservative white folks. And it's starting to make a HUGE difference.

THIS is what the repubs REFUSE to accept. Well not all of them. There are some in the party who want some hard core right wing nutjob like Cruz to win the nomination. Not because they think he'll win. Because they KNOW he will get destroyed and the party can finally push aside the fucktard tea party nuts and move forward in trying to grow by attracting a lot more minorities.

You do realize that trump won't even get HALF (probably about 1/3 if he's lucky) the Hispanic votes that Romney got don't you? I mean he's pretty much at the all time low in polls of Hispanics.

Of course you won't believe me so please, go read Karl Rove and maybe you'll then begin to understand why the Republican party is DOOMED with Trump's "Deport Them All" philosophy.

Well said Joe.

I would say this though. The Ted Cruz and Donald Trump crowds do actually believe they will win. Guys like Sheriff Joe here.....truly believes America will elect a far right conservative. He points to the McCain and Romney losses as proof that America wants a true conservative. He has no idea that a true conservative would take an epic beating that would make the Obama/Romney race look close.

Yes, that is my point. They don't get it and never will until their candidate gets destroyed. I think there's quite a few middle of the road repubs (as in those actively involved in politics not the general public) who are beginning to believe that they're going to have to appease the whack jobs by letting them have their candidate so they can see once and for all how bad they will lose.

And yes, I agree that about 30% of repubs (the so-called base) absolutely believe to the core of their soul that Cruz would win. It's mind boggling how the party did that "autopsy" report and then have just done the exact opposite to appease the angry mob. Those 30% are going to drive the party off a cliff. I just can't understand how anyone with a half a brain could imagine winning a significant percentage of hispanic votes with a policy that says "we're coming to deport grandma". It's fucking insanity!!!

Once again, a well written post, well buttressed with actual facts, as opposed to made up, life-as-I-WISHED-it-would-be bullshit. Thanks for posting, it's a pity that you don't post more.

I was also very surprised at Rove's presience in 2013. Too bad, about 15 months later on election night, he gave us a wee bit less common sense. MAN, was that great TV, lol:

[h=1]Karl Rove’s Math Problems (Update,2)[/h] Posted by Prop on November 7, 2012 at 10:51 AM

Nov 072012
May the pork be with you: Stephen Colbert’presents Karl Rove with an honorific bust
Of all the satisfying results from last night’s amazing election, I count Rethug Svengali Karl Rove’s humiliation as one of the best.
A little background first. In the run-up to the 2006 mid-term elections, Rove said this to NPR about the pre-election polls, which showed the Rethugs losing:
You may end up with a different math, but you’re entitled to your math. I’m entitled to the math…[which adds] up to a Republican Senate and a Republican House.
History proved him wrong, of course, with the Dems taking control of both the Senate and the House that year.
In search of schadenfreude, after hearing CNN and MSNBC call the election for Obama, I tuned into Fux News to check out their reaction. Lo and behold there was Karl, making a fool of himself once again. He was strongly objecting to the network’s confirmation of Obama’s victory, causing Megyn Kelly to leave her anchor chair and rush down stairs to check with Michael Barone and the rest of Fux’s number crunchers (barely getting back into her chair after the commercial break ended).
The LA Times reports:
All the networks, CNN, the Associated Press and Fox News had called the presidential race for President Obama. But one man with a big megaphone thought it was all too premature.
Fox News analyst Karl Rove threw up a spirited rebuttal argument Tuesday night as the conservative cable channel said that Republican Mitt Romney’s bid for president had failed.
Fox then proceeded with the unusual spectacle of bringing its chief data analyst on camera to discuss with Rove why the outlet said Ohio, and thus the presidency, would remain in Democratic hands…
Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly joked that there would be a “cage match” between Rove and the head of Fox’s election analysis team. But the Fox analysts explained that their call was simply about the numbers.
One can only hope that Rove offered his donors, anonymous and otherwise, a money-back guarantee on the $300 million plus bucks they gave him to defeat Obama and to take back the Senate.
Say g’night, Karl.
UPDATE 2 (11/8 9:50am) Jon Stewart’‘s take on Rove’s math in which he suggests a new motto for Fux News: ‘Math You Do As A Republican To Make Yourself Feel Better.’

UPDATE (11/7 4:22 PM) The Atlantic has a collection of clips from Fux News documenting the Rove instigated network meltdown.
It should be noted that Fux is employing as an “analyst”the prime operative of the GOP, who also happens to be its largest fund raiser. Not like he doesn’t have skin in the game.
Maybe the reason why Karl was so upset is that calling the election for Obama interfered with a contingency plan to steal the Ohio vote at the last minute. Recall that vote totals and projections from a number of states were still outstanding, and that it was Ohio that put Obama over the top.
Would anybody believe that stealing an election is alien to Rove’s modus operandi?

LOL...Yes DaFinch...I thought he was fucking hilarious on election night, and of course comedy central is always classic!!...But that was 2012, BEFORE he posted the stuff about white votes in 2013. At least that's the way I read it...

Rove is a douche bag. But he's a fucking smart one. REALLY FUCKING SMART. He's one of those I would put in the "give the mob their poison so they can finally die" group. If he had his way, he'd take Bush 3 or Kasich and run with them. I doubt he'd honestly want anyone else.

Regardless I stand by original statement that it's PRIME TIME for a true IND. to come in and win. Country is fed up with EVERYONE who is a politician. A real IND would kick ass IMO. But it's gotta be in a short time frame. People get tired of this primary shit. Someone pops up in July or Aug next year and goes balls to the wall for a few months, I think they could get 40% of the votes...The ELECTORAL votes is a different subject...
