It appears that Tim Tebow's impressive preseason showing against the Jets wasn't enough to earn him a job in Philadelphia. According to ESPN.com, the Eagles cut Tebow on Saturday.

Just one day ago, it looked like Tebow had a good chance to make the team after the Eagles shipped third-string quarterback Matt Barkley off to Arizona. However, it appears that coach Chip Kelly has decided to stick with only two quarterbacks -- Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez -- for the time being.

On the surface, carrying two quarterbacks seems like a risky move for the Eagles considering Bradford's injury history.
Now, just because Tebow's out doesn't mean he won't play in the NFL this year. Kelly could decide to bring Tebow back at a later date or the quarterback could even end up signing with another team.

After Barkley was traded on Friday, it appeared that Tebow had a great shot of making the team. The fourth-string quarterback throughly outplayed Barkley in the Eagles preseason finale against the Jets.

Tebow threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns in the 24-18 loss and looked sharp for most of the night. Barkley only threw for 45 yards in the loss and also threw an interception.
One of Tebow's touchdown passes was an 18-yarder to Rasheed bailey that might have been his best throw of the preseason.

After the game, Tebow said he was starting to really feel "comfortable" in Kelly's offense.
"I think I'm getting more and more comfortable," Tebow said. "More and more comfortable with the offense. Getting into more of a rhythm, especially on first down, kind of getting things going, getting the first first down, which is big in this offense, and trying to get it rolling a little bit."

Just because he was comfortable though doesn't mean Tebow thought he was going to make the team.
"That's not up to me," Tebow said. "I just try to go out there and do what I'm coached and try to improve every day and compete. I've said this a lot of times to you guys and I really genuinely mean it: I'm not going to worry about what I can't control. It's a blessing being able to come out here and play the game I love. It was a lot of fun out there tonight. I had a blast."

The Cardinals got a steal in trading for Barkely. Is Bradford or Sanchez even better than Barkely? And for a 7th round pick? Bradford will be done by week 6 and Sanchez is never an answer.

Wait....what??

sometimes I wonder if you've ever watched a football game in your life. Barkley is not an NFL qb and not close to Bradford skill set in any way.

Bradford will be a top 5 qb this year unless he gets a cheap knee shot

Totally agree. Having watched Barkley the last few years in pre season.....he's very lucky to have an NFL contract.

You say things about players that make zero sense......I mean ZERO sense. At this point I'm thinking Marcus Mariota will be a hall of famer....just based on your evaluation.

Ha. The Titans will be picking in the top 5 if not have the #1 pick. I say things that make zero sense? Give me a few examples. You are barking up a tree you can't climb.

The Titans have a lot of holes to fill. Your comments about black qb comes to mind but there has been others....I just don't commit your posts to memory......mostly because they are so wrong I just shake my head and move on.

Tebow is set for life. Past NFL salary and networks will pay a shitload to get him. Every network would love to add him.

And what black qb's have set the world on fire?

The truth.

1. Career usually done by 30.
2. Stupid so can't pick up the playbook.
3. Run often so hurt usually.

The best black qb of the past 20 years? Donovan McNabb. He sucked.

Warren Moon was the best black QB I have ever seen.
