If any of you are interested, there's some interesting new stuff that has just been published.

One guy from England, Jonathan Gale, has won tens of millions of dollars, by placing bets directly from American sporting events like the US Open tennis. He has fired billions of dollars of bets from America into European betting website Betfair.

He has hired about 25 "courtsiders" who travel the world in a different country every week, firing in bets. They idea is when you see a touchdown, home run, a point won or lost, or a goal scored, to quickly place a bet into Betfair before people at home watching it on tv see a touchdown scored or a goal scored.

There is also a story with Serena Williams - her camp have befriended a 'courtsider' called Richard Coughlan, who works for a gambling syndicate, who also bet heavily from the United States (illegally). Serena has given VIP tickets to Coughlan a the Wimbledon quarter and semifinals 2012, and VIP tickets in Qatar, but she doesn't know he works for a crime syndicate.

The story about Jonathan Gale is at http://djsunset.com/jonathan-gale/
The Serena Williams story is at http://djsunset.com/the-serena-williams-scandal/

See what you think.

Yea there is around a 7 second delay from HD signal and live.
That can have a huge effect on live play by play wagering if you can beat the 7 seconds.

I wonder if the sports books in 3rd world countries have a way to beat that 7 second delay.

Seams like the odds on live wagering corresponds to the 7 second delay.

So maybe it would be a good idea to fire up bookmaker at a live saints game and get down on a move before the books find out about it.

Hi Choptalk,

What is the sentiment like in america about this kind of illegal gambling? Is the Wire Act taken seriously?

This chap Gale has made tens of millions of dollars by doing this - you can see from that site he spent about $8 million funding a movie (how much spare cash do you have to have to think funding a movie is a good idea ? :D )

Betfair have a 5 second delay. This is how Gale became super rich - he is the "king" of courtsiding.

My CBS, FOX, NBC, and ABC are all off-air HD. I have no delay I believe
