If Jeff Fisher fails to get The Rams into the playoffs - or atleast playoff contention - should he be fired? Yes, they are in a very tough division. But in the last few years, many believed they would turn the corner and they have failed to win even 8 games in a season.

Yes Tough Division ... but he hasn't had a Winning season since 2008
IMO, he needs to be over .500 this season to keep his job

If he thought his job was really in jeopardy then he probably wouldn't have drafted an RB 10th overall that was coming off a torn ACL and might miss almost half of the season.

I'm guessing ownership realizes he had his QB go down to a torn ACL back to back years and his leash is a little longer than people think.

Like Pats said, he needs a competent and healthy QB. I like Foles. Many don't. We'll see how he does. If he can move that offense, watch out.

Jeff Fisher is always described as a great coach and maybe he is, but he never is coaching a team that is winning and who the hell drafts Vince Young although that was probably the dumbass owner who has zero football knowledge.

3-3

On Sunday, the Rams beat up the Cleveland Browns 24-6, powered by another huge Todd Gurley game. The defense assaulted Josh McCown and helped the Rams get by without a strong passing day from Foles. Through 6 games, the Rams have scored 108 points, the second smallest total in the NFC. They are 3-3.

You can’t give up on the Rams yet. The division is still within reach. The Cards are 4-2 but The Seahawks(3-4) and 49ers(2-5) are under .500 heading into Week 8. The upcoming Rams schedule involves the possibility of rise in the division.

Next is San Francisco at home. The West Coast foes aren’t as tough as they have been in the past few years, allowing 26 points per game on average. Their offense got shut down by the Seahawks Thursday night. They can’t score and their defense is weak. This is winnable.

After that comes Minnesota, a 4-2 team who scored 30 points on Sunday. They have similar offensive struggles to the Rams but can play solid defense and have a +12 point differential. This won’t be an easy game but if the Rams defense handles the Vikes attack, the Rams can unleash the Gurley attack on them. Winnable.

The Ravens are 1-5. Joe Flacco has a QB rating of 80.7 and is getting battered. Their defense is bad. They are bad. The Rams can win this game.

The Bengals are undefeated but maybe this is whey Andy Dalton decides to revert back to bad playoff Dalton. You never know. The Bengals have scored 23 touchdowns(most in the AFC) but by then, they could be broken. This is a tough one.

The Rams finish the season with games against Arizona, Detroit, Tampa Bay, Seattle, and San Francisco. All winnable games or at the very least, not sure losses. This is the maddening part.

The Rams defense deserves more wins. The Rams offense, if a few players named Jared Cook could catch a pass, may have scored a few more points. The Rams can play with at least 30 of the 32 teams when they bring it on every level. If they don’t shoot themselves in the foot, the potential is there.

The Rams offense, outside of Gurley, is bad. They rank 31st in points per game and yards per game. Their 177.1 passing yards per game is last.*There’s a guy named Gurley who is having some fun early on in his NFL career, and with that fun is giving the offense a pulse. The Rams rushing yards average of 121 yards per game is good for 13th in the NFL.

Manning and Rams head coach Jeff Fisher know each other quite well from their many battles in the AFC South. While the Broncos hold an $19 million option on Manning for next season there is virtually no way it gets picked up especially with a replacement in Brock Osweiler already in place. If he doesn’t, the Los Angeles Rams are interested in signing him. Manning still needs to decide whether he will feature in the next season or not.
The Rams now have quarterbacks Case Keenum, Nick Foles and Sean Mannion occupying the three spots on the depth chart.

Manning is too great to play on 3 seperate teams though and the liklihood of it paying off big in 1 single year is highly unlikely. If he is going to go that route, why not go to Seattle or Carolina. Some team with a great defense and running game. Greatest player I have ever watched. I hope he comes out on top tomorrow, plays well, and calls it a career. I still think he may hang on until all 32 teams say they are not interested though.

So he should go play backup to Russ and Cam? He is not a better qb than either guy at this stage in his career.

You must be bleeding money if your betting skills are as awful as your football IQ. Only reason Manning is even getting the opportunity to choke on the big stage again is Osweiler hurting shoulder vs Steelers.

Manning will be remembered as a great qb who rarely played his best in high profile games. He will be known as the 2nd best qb of his era and the Manning brother with less SB rings.
