They wanna know if you have electricity so you can watch the games while you bet?

Lmao ......I don't know dude, but I've heard of this & this its stupid, especially when you're sending cash.

You can deposit money & start playing within 20 minutes, but to receive money, it takes forever, sometimes 2 weeks, & up to 30 days, what a joke......can't wait until the US govt legalizes sports betting.

Only thing offshore books have are the best payout odds on big parlays.....& you better hope you're with a solid & trusting book like Pinnacle or Bookmaker to get paid if you hit a $100,000 parlay.

I'm assuming other books out there would also pay big hits like this, I'm just not aware of them.

main reason is to make it incrementally less likely that people will go through the process required to make a w/d

secondary reason and their stated rationale is to prevent fraud as it would be tougher for someone who hacked into your account to also obtain copies of your DL and a utility bill and this shows that the addresses match where they would be sending the check if that if applicable

It's easier to get that info now, up front.
because if you do get lucky enough to collect, they will be able to know its really you.

5 dimes wanted ID from a friend just to change his password.
when he objected and asked to talk to KING TONY, he
actually got barred for having the nerve to ask his majesty
as to why ID was necessary. bizarre.

Very insightful comment. Obviously vast majority of players have no way of WINNING.

But note reference to COLLECTING. Quite less chance of that.

The answer to the OP's question is no other than.... There is no legit reason.

Other than to make you jump through hoops to collect. Its simple. But its true.

I don't think any American business asks for utility bills. Only one I remember was the library when you wanted a library card.

Not to mention you can photoshop the utility bill and add whatever name you want.

I always did find one thing funny. They would take a series of CC deposits over months or even years without needing documentation, but when you try to collect you need to prove that card was really yours. I have more of a problem with that line of thinking than I do with them wanting to verify your existence and your address before mailing you a check.

Great, Will I have a tough time withdrawing if I used a bank card to deposit but no longer have that same bank card? This stuff is so ridiculous, you can deposit in seconds, but have to jump through every hoop imagineable to withdraw. Some people prob. don't even have utilities in their name
