MMA Fighter Says She Can't Fight at Desired Weight Due to Size of Her Breasts.

MMA fighter Brye Anne Russillo has been forced to fight in a heavier division for a rather unusual reason.

A 29-year-old pastry chef, Russillo will take on Paige Lian at the Queens Theatre in Flushing Meadow Park, New York, on Oct. 3.

Russillo normally fights at 155 pounds but has agreed to fight Lian, usually 145 pounds, at 150 pounds.
Russillo would like to fight at Lian's weight, but the catchweight is necessary because her breasts are too big.

Russillo told Kyle Carroll of MyMMANews.com in blunt terms that it was impossible to go down to 145 pounds for the fight: “I can’t cut my t--s off and put them on the side, they weigh 12 pounds,” she explained.

A single mother, Russillo got into MMA through
cardio kickboxing classes, where she noticed others at the gym training to compete in the cage.
She hasn't looked back since.

“If you find a hobby late in life, follow it! I have a child and turning 30 in a couple of months, and I’m glad I followed my passion,” explained Russillo, who plans to teach martial arts to children in the future.

Russillo, who holds a 1-1 MMA record, said she ultimately hopes to fight at 135 pounds for her next bout.

Many sport stars say they will do whatever it takes to succeed.
But tennis player Simona Halep has gone to drastic measures in her bid to win Wimbledon – by having a breast reduction to improve her reaction times.
And since going from a 34DD to a 34C aged 17, she has soared up the rankings – and is now seeded number three for Wimbledon, ahead of former champion Maria Sharapova.

As one commentator explained: ‘She is more confident, more mobile and her strokes are less restricted now that those obstacles have been reduced.’
The 22-year-old Romanian reached the fourth round at last year’s US Open and the quarterfinals at the Australian Open in January, before making it to the French Open final a few weeks ago.
Her recently appointed coach Wim Fissette said her breast reduction had been 'an important part of her career.'

She added: 'I guess it was the right decision. I did not see her then. I have seen some photos, but she took that decision and it was a good one. I understand that.

'That’s why she was famous.

'Let’s hope she will win a Grand Slam and then they will start talking about the Grand Slams and not something else.’

She said last week: 'A few years ago I was looking up the rankings on the internet and I saw I was on the fourth page. I said my dream was to be on the first page.

'Now I am there. I want to enjoy this moment but I want to improve more in my game and maybe be second or first.'

i would say that the mma fighter is staging a publicity stunt in order to touch base with the demographic of 18-34 years of age. Those are definitely breast implants, how in the world is she fighting an mma match in new york? No real commission would ever let her fight.

I agree about the publicity stunt, also the huge possibility of those being fake as she can and would lose a little weight in the breast area while cutting if not...

and I agree, I don't see how she's fighting MMA in New York. With that being said, the Friday Night Fights Muay Thai shows In NYC are awesome...

She's 30 and basically just started training after doing cardio kickboxing classes, and she's gonna teach martial arts classes....ummkay

yeah it's definitely fake plus said said they weigh 12 pounds. No girl with real breasts know the exact weight like that. Sounds like a pair of saline breast implants at 6 pounds a piece to me.

She may not get to fight in NY because MMA currently is illegal in that state, although they're working on legalization and anticipate doing so before the date arrives.
