I think Cam Newton has taken the next step.

Outside of the very very elite hes right there.

He is a winner.

If you had a redraft of the entire NFL I think he would be a top 4 to 7 pick.

Throw the entire NFL into a draft (age matters) this is my top 4.

1)Luck
2)Rodgers
3)Watt
4)Newton

Newton maybe 3.

2. Panthers QB Cam Newton: Newton threw five touchdown passes in Carolina's 44-16 win over the Redskins on Sunday, which is more impressive when you consider the fact that he doesn't even really warmup before games, he just wanders around and talks to kids.Actually, I'm sure he warms up and he probably does it by playing catch with those kids.Anyway, what Newton did Sunday against Washington was one of the most impressive games played by any quarterback all season. Newton threw four of his five touchdown passes before halftime, becoming the first quarterback in franchise history to throw four touchdown passes in the first half.Overall, Newton passed for 246 yards and rushed for 16 in the win over Washington. It's probably also worth noting that Newton threw his 100th career touchdown pass in Week 11.With 102 career touchdown passes, Newton is the only player in NFL history to throw at least 100 touchdown passes and rush for at least 25 more in his first five seasons. Newton has 39 career rushing touchdowns. If the Cowboys want to beat the Panthers on Thanksgiving Day, they better keep him out of the red zone. Newton has thrown 15 touchdown passes inside the 20 this year and zero interceptions.Next up for Newton: at Dallas (Thanksgiving Day on CBS, streaming live on CBSSports.com).Newton's season stats: 174 of 306 for 2,283 yards, 20 TDs, nine INTs, 90.1 QB rating; 86 carries, 382 yards, six TDs.

Guess I missed this thread. Newton is the most physically gifted qb to ever play. Mislabeled as a running qb by people who don't understand the game. Factoring in age Newton is without a doubt top 5 pick if all players were thrown into a redraft pool.

As far as physically gifted I would have to say Russell or Vick. But Newton is right there with them

No Vick was faster with a better arm.
Russell had the best arm ever

I've been saying for years that Cam is the real deal.

Two years ago I was laughed out of a thread for calling him a potential top 5 Qb

jesus christ you guys. I'm not saying he isn't good but putting him in the same conversation with Brady is insanity. We do realize he has pretty much the same stats as Jameis Winston right? If Carolina was 7-4 instead of 11-0 (thanks in large part to the defense) no one is talking Newton for MVP crap. Guy has 180 yards a 0 td's today and people are all over his jock. Again, after this sunday he probably has less passing yards then Jameis Winston and probably like 2 more td's. Assuming Winston has an average game on sunday. And he doesn't even have that many more rushing yards then Winston btw. People need to slow down on this guy

Who compared him to Brady? He's worlds more talented than Brady could ever dream. In terms of accomplishments there is no discussion.

I didn't say you guys compared him to Brady. I'm saying writers, annoucers ect have him in the MVP conversation and that conversation starts and should end with Brady. The guy literally has Jameis Winston numbers. JAMEIS WINSTON. Ignore the fact the team is 11-0 with one of the best defenses in the nfl. If caolinas defense wasn't really good they would be .500 and nobody says a word about Cam

Coming into todays game

Cam stats- 2283 yards, 20 td's, 9 ints.
Jameis Winston- 2405 yards, 15 td's, 9 ints.

Cam is 20th in passing yards, 6th in tds, 11th in most ints thrown, 17th in qb rating. I get it, he runs well for a qb but lets stop the MVP talk.

Brady- 3320 yards, 25 tds, 4 ints, 2nd in qb rating.

Cam can't hold Bradys jock so for any of these writers to talk about him for MVP is laughable.

As a rule I push away from the narcissistic types and Cam most def one of those, maybe the biggest in pro sports. Those types just never seem to lift the Trophy in the end.
Wait, Watt
at #3.... really? I don't know if I go top 20 with him! More hollywood flash than all time great or whatever. I could be wrong but I don't think JJ is obsessed with winning super bowls.
