But it worked out. But the play itself was a worse play then what they tried to do in the Super Bowl.

The refs fucked Detroit....The KJ Wright "bat out" play should've kept the ball with Detroit.

800 flags in 4 weeks or whatever and they can't get that?

Wow. Now they're saying the Seattle player illegally batted the ball out of the end zone(he did), and it should have been Detroit's ball, 1st and goal at the inch line. I guess they're gonna get the old NFL apology letter. I did not know that rule. I've seen players bat the ball out of the end zone before. Many Seattle Survivor Contest Players are breathing a sigh of relief.

Nothing stupid about the play call.. What would have been stupid is if Wilson threw the ball away or incomplete.

He threw the ball 40 yards downfield. That is dumb with a capital D. Russell played like he was drunk or high tonight.

I could be wrong but I believe it would've been half distance, not 1st and gl at the 1.

Sad when the refs don't know the rules.

That must be an awesome feeling being KJ Wright right now. Knowing you fucked up badly and your team could've been 1-3.

But instead you're chilling in the locker room, giving high fives and probably gonna have 2 strippers all over you in an hour.

It was Jerry Austin and I thought he said it would be half distance.

No, he's saying 1st and goal on the 6 inch line. Half the distance from where Detroit last possessed the ball. Dean Blandino, the Director of Officiating is saying the same thing.

Detroit looked better than Seattle tonight. That o-line is horrendous. They would have at least gone into OT.

I didn't think he was allowed to bat the ball out like that. I didn't know the rule either. Appears that no one else did as well. No mention from the Booth of it, DET Coach doesn't raise hell....refs were unconcerned. When I saw it my immediate thought was: "Oh, thats not good." but then nothing came of it so I thought "well may be there is no rule against it but seems like its odd that its allowed".

Where he was though & where the ball was (both so close to the back line) I think if he tries to recover the ball he can't before he goes out of bounds and in trying to recover the ball he knocks it out of bounds anyway....so....

...maybe its an "interpretation" rule, like...based on the situation, in this case the proximity of Player + Ball to Back Line????

Which is why the refs did not pursue it?
