It should have been called Runners Interference and a Double Play. At the very least, he should have been called out at 2B. He wasn't even looking for the bag.

I doubt Utley is worried about getting hit by a pitch. He was among the league leaders in HBP's his whole career. He would never move out of the way and always to the free base.
Just looked it up. He is 12th all time in HBP

i understand trying to break up the play but he was out of line. late slide, running out of the path...he may not have intended to break his leg, but he sure was reckless.
