[h=1]New York Knicks: Are The Playoffs In Their Future?[/h] by

<article> [h=2]Arron Afflalo believes that the New York Knicks are a playoff team but, even in the logjam that the Eastern Conference has been, that’s a question mark[/h] After a hot start as a whole, the Eastern Conference has begun to regress to its mean. The overall conference is still pretty much a logjam, with the exception of the top two teams running away from the rest of the collective unit, with 10 teams separated by five games in the loss column.
One of the teams that is in that logjam happens to be the New York Knicks, who has already amassed last year’s win total. And, when healthy, could be a real threat to sneak into the playoffs.
And, from all indications, it appears their confidence is growing.
Arron Afflalo believes that the Knicks are a playoff team. Following last night’s overtime loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, this is what Afflalo told
Ian Begley of ESPN:
“My take is that we’re a playoff team, period. If we don’t make the playoffs this year … we belong in the playoffs,” Afflalo said late Tuesday night.
The New York Knicks are two games back of the once red hot, Indiana Pacers, for the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference.
Although,
Kristaps Porzingis was booed during draft night, he’s having an exceptional rookie rookie year. With the impact he’s had, combined with
Carmelo Anthony‘s resurgence after an injury-plagued season a year ago, the Knicks making the playoffs isn’t unattainable.

The Knicks have solid rim protection from
Robin Lopez and Kristaps Porzingis, but defense is still a concern. They aren’t very good at guarding the perimeter and currently rank among the NBA’s bottom 10 teams on that end of the court.
The jury is also still out on if
Derek Fisher is the right coach for the Knicks, but even with these concerns, the Knicks making the playoffs isn’t out of the question.
But are the New York Knicks a playoff team, period? Eh, question mark.
