[h=1]Sports betting bills heard in Lansing[/h]Thursday, October 15, 2015
LANSING (WKZO-AM) -- A pair of bills that would legalize sports and horse race betting in Michigan got a hearing Wednesday in Lansing.
There were estimates that both forms of betting could generate between $300 million to $500 million a year in revenue for the state.
There is just one problem -- federal law won’t allow it. New Jersey is being sued after passing sports betting legislation.
Backers of the bill say, if New Jersey wins in court, Michigan might be able to pursue it too.
