Is it tacky, (or worse) to drive around with a dash cam?

I just got a gopro. I have a couple buddies who live in Houston and kind of envy me living in Portland. So I said I would drive around with great music and make comments. They said sure, sent it.

My question is, would it bother anyone if they noticed a camcorder with the red light flashing?

I know BAS does it.

It's annoying as hell to watch. He drives around with his blinker on doing 50 MPH. Doesn't matter if he's in the left lane of the highway, or driving through a school zone.

I don't think it is. I drive around in an Ice Cream Truck blasting Zylophone Disney Songs (such as its a small world, theme to mary poppins and many more) and I don't even sell Ice Cream. Its just the vehicle I prefer to drive. Born Under The Sign of Leo...understandable. To me anyways. Less so to many others.

In my opinion whatever you wanna put on you car you should. Especially fluorescent neon lights under the underneath of the car. And a machine to disperse Fog. Dry Ice. Whatever.

My truck hasn't got that stuff on it right now but it will.

Thanks, I feel better about it

If it were not for the dash cam the world would never know how horrible Russian drivers are.

Envious of living in Portland, LOL.

I have a double dash cam, one for the front and one for the back.

I have caught one accident and two near accidents on them. One could have been used in court.

I have a coworker that got t-boned one time and also had a guy creep into his lane on the freeway and bump his vehicle. Both times the other person lied and gave a different story than what actually happened and the cases against them got thrown out of court based upon lack of witnesses.

When I was shopping for mine (I have a Garmin) the web site showed a video of a bicyclist pulling in front of a car and the car owner didn't get charged. Imagine if you were a driver and someone pulled out in front of you and you hit them. If you have a dash cam it may help you prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that you weren't at fault.

I wouldn't want anyone to hear me talking to myself or my dog

It's funny you should say that. I was playing back a recording of my dashcam to find something I wanted to see again. I burped in the middle of it and didn't remember burping that loud. I guess some of the stuff we do is something we do so much we don't even notice we do it.
