KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Mets and Royals are set to do battle in Game 1 of the World Series Tuesday night (8:07 p.m. ET), weather permitting. Let's put the emphasis on the latter part of that sentence, too, because it's been raining all morning in Kansas City and the forecast for gme time doesn't look promising, either.
There is a chance it'll stop, though.

Throughout most of the day, rain is expected. The weather.com hourly forecast shows "showers" in the two hours leading up to the game. At 7 p.m. locally (the game starts at 7:07 local time), we see "few showers" with a 35 percent chance of rain. The following hour is the same with the 9 o'clock hour dropping down to cloudy with a 20 percent chance of rain.

As the night progresses, the forecast shows the chances of rain diminishing.
So it looks like maybe we'll get a delay but the game will be played, at least that's the hope.
There's no official word on what would happen if the game was outright postponed, but the hunch is they'd just push back Games 1 and 2 while keeping the New York games on as scheduled, meaning Games 1-5 would be played five straight days.
