Why do the put odds on a team like Detroit ?
They are mathematically eliminated .
Its unethical to put odds on something that is 100% impossible

My friend who lives in LV was telling me that a lot of the smaller casinos in LV put the Lakers at like 350-1 this year. Odds at most books were 100-1 but since they obviously have no shot just put it at 300-1 and then they were getting action from Laker fans saying screw it let me throw $20-50 on it.

That is a pretty good idea in the NBA.

Don't see that as the same. The NBA season is still very young, and though it's highly unlikely it's not improbable. Putting a number on team that has been mathematically eliminated is unethical. If that's the case.

I'd do it if I could. Casino a good business if you can get it....

FWIW Det isn't mathematically eliminated. If they win 8 straight they could still make the playoffs. Even 7 isn't of the question.

Do you think the app is hurting locals? Can't see how it wouldn't because it steers good players towards the app. So then who is left for locals to take? The crumbs.

My local is in Vegas and I talked to him for the first time in awhile a few days ago. He said he barely bothers with it anymore because most of the people who want credit now aren't good for it.

Yeah can't see how it wouldn't unless he's offering reduced juice on NFL games. One of my Apps here gave 5% comps for app bettors for the whole month of September just get that NFL money.

What does 5% comp mean? -105 or like 5% rebate on losses?

I'd think they can't go too aggressive with the -105 because they have revenue targets with the state that have to be met but they could definitely put the bookies out of business pretty easily. Not like your avg bookie is gonna create a mobile app.

This doesn't bother the casinos that it could have an impact on foot traffic?

I've thought about that too, but the extra revenue they're getting is huge. They're pushing the apps pretty hard here now. I guess you still got to go in to cash out plus the comps I earn from home get's me in the door too.

As for the 5% you were getting $5 for every 100 wagered, that could be used for dining and free rooms ect, so it wasn't coming out of the bottom line from the book.
