Talked about this plenty leading up to draft. He's a special player. Took command of the Seminoles offense game 1 of his freshman season and you see him doing the same in TB. People will spew their uninformed opinions of how he's a thug/criminal/rapist/whatever. Yet we've always heard the opposite from anyone who has ever known the guy.

He's definitely looking better & avoiding mistakes.

One thing I'm concerned about, like many, is his accuracy, or lack of, in which most cases a player either has or doesn't & can never get better at...

Hache, have to disagree on this. IMO that & reading a D are the 2 things that can be improved. Faster, taller, smarter, no. But practice improving footwork, angle of release, etc. are things that can be improved upon, w/practice & some teaching.

Agree silver SOME can IMPROVE (only) their accuracy & why I stated "most".

But even with some improvement, most never reach the accuracy level that come to some so naturally.

Tim Tebow is a prime example & unfortunately for him the most popular...

His accuracy problems are due to poor mechanics and bad footwork.

He is not inaccurate because he can't aim right. He is inaccurate due to footwork .

If he improves his foot work / mechanics it will automatically improve his accuracy because that's the reason for his inaccuracy .

So he is a prime contender for the type of qb that can improve his completion percentage over time.

He does have much more upside then MM. And they drafted the right guy if they were going to take a qb

Agree with all this. Winston was on another level as a prospect. You just don't often see guys with the intangibles and natural feel for playing the position. For the most part his accuracy issues can be cleaned up with coaching. When he sets his feet he is as accurate as any qb.

Winston is closing in on breaking more Buccaneers passing records and has completely shattered the NFL record for touchdowns by a quarterback to start a career – 28 straight games. Already, at such a young age and in only his second season – Winston appears to have set a record that will never be touched.

More to come, nice bump 5team....and NO off the field issues, contrary to the nonsense many were spewing on these boards.

He also has scored a td in every game he's played I'm since 2010. It's amazing how uninformed people's opions of him were leading up to the draft.

What a dope:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston and center Ryan Jensen got into it on the sideline on Sunday, with the pair needing teammates and a coach to intervene.
The argument was likely spurred by Jensen’s pair of penalties on a first-half drive, though the Bucs took a 14-3 lead into the half with Winston leading a touchdown drive on the following possession.
Things did not get better for Jameis and Co., with Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints reeling off 25 unanswered points in the second half en route to a 28-14 win.

This is it for Jameis in Tampa Bay. They will move on from him at the end of the season.

They shouldnt have picked up his 5th year option back in April. Frankly at this point I'm onboard the tank for Tua train. Fuck it. It's hard to keep watching the team when they preform the way they do. Winston isn't the worst QB in the league but he is never going to win anything. He just makes far to many stupid throws. Some of the int's he throws are truly mind boggling. There's at least 17 qb's I'd rather have on my team before Winston.

Completely agree : he has the attention span of a sand flea. Every once in a while has a good game but guaranteed to revert back to his complete lack of discipline.
