Thirty five people have reportedly been killed at an Eagles of Death Metal gig in Paris as part of a wave of violent attacks on the French city this evening (November 13).
The band, fronted by Jesse Hughes, were performing at Bataclan as part of a European tour. Associated Press reports that there have been 35 killed and a further 100 taken hostage at the venue. The concert hall is now the scene of a hostage situation.
Eagles of Death Metal are the band of Jesse Hughes and Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme. Homme does not perform live with the band and was not with them in Paris.
CNN reports that witnesses inside the venue say there are between six to eight attackers.
The attack on Bataclan is part of a wide-ranging attack on Paris. French national stadium Stade de France was also targeted, with several explosions heard outside the venue. Elsewhere at least one man opened fire in a restaurant in the 11th district. Several casualties are reported from that location.
A BBC journalist at the Petit Cambodge restaurant reported 10 people on the road either dead or seriously injured.
