Is it normal for a Local to do this?

Recently met a guy through a mutual friend who is willing to take my action. I am fairly new to this and despite having wagered online before this is my first experience with a local.I typically like to put some coin on televised events and am looking forward to betting all these bowl games. Anyway he tells me I need to post up 200 to start and he will give me a 200 credit as well and I'll have a 400 balance and we will settle after Monday morning. All plays are via text and he expects me to keep track of everything and keep all texts until the following week. Is posting of the money before the week and sending all plays via text the expected norm? Also is there any legal implications if I am caught wagering with a local or if he gets busted and mentions me as a client?

I have 2 locals I bet thru texts with one, and the other has a webiste thats just like offshore sites i bet on. I never put money upfront but they know me.

would be nice if I can get a 2nd guy as my current guy has me at $50 per game and won't raise my limits unless I post up a large amount. Any recommendations on how to find another local? Heard the local bars were a good place to meet them but haven't had any luck.

stay away this guy is a scam. He is located in Chicago likely not St Louis as he says and has a friend located in New Jersey. I was up 4 digits on them and they simply ran off on me without paying a penny.

I dont like using locals specially if I get carried away and bet over my head : will be expecting that dreadful knock on my door when its time to collect
