Not the top 5 greatest where you have to put biggie, tupac, nas, eminem, jayz. But your top 5 personal favorites.

in no order for me:

Big pun, Cormega, Scarface, Ghostface, Mos def

I like Banks and Buck a lot too.

Rap sucks now but that is because that is what the public wants. You still have solid artists who aren't making that bullshit

he aight. . I'm about dudes who are original. Different sells. If you can do shit your own way I will respect you, like Outkast I wasn't a huge fan of but I respected their art. Same with Busta Rhymes, different just sells. Now everyone is trying to come up with that one club hit so the music has just watered down. The material is trash. No one is coming in the game with long dreds saying wild shit on the mic not giving a fuck what anyone thinks. Same with Eminem. Honestly anyone new I wont even pay attention to, unless it's Kendrick Lamar.

I would have never thought it. She can rap. she won me over in the past year..
IMO, Drake is the best thing to happen to rap in a long time

Before this new wave, All I listened to was Nas and Tupac...

You'd like Sirius station - Shady 45 It's acutally Eminems stations
They play a lot of that kind of hip hop mixed in with more of the new underground stuff, as well as some more mainstream stuff

There are some other good ones that were omitted. Old TI, goodie mob, bg, beanie. New rap is garbarge even Kendrick. Rich Homie is the only one i can listen too. For the female rappers Lauren Hill, hands down, is the best followed by Gangsta Boo.
