Thought it was ironic that the founder who developed North Face died in a tragic accident, where the cold icy water killed him. RIP

U.S. environmentalist and businessman Douglas Tompkins, the founder of outdoor clothing and equipment company The North Face, died on Tuesday during a kayaking trip in Chile, local health officials said. He was 72.
Tompkins was on General Carrera Lake in Patagonia in southern Chile with a group of five others when his kayak flipped and he fell into the icy waters, the Aysen regional health service said in a statement. Local media reported that he was knocked over by a strong wave.

Pretty solid guy was charging action sports in chile at 72. I'll sign up for going by shark after catching waves at 72 no questions asked. I'm sure dude lived an amazing life and died doing something he loved. RIP

I heard the wave that knocked him over was caused by climate change.
