Rousey and Chuck Lidell. No one has crossed over to the mainstream more than them. Most non UFC fans don't even know who McGregor is yet.

CMG might make $12M for UFC 194 --- that would be largest payday in UFC history (estimate for Rousey's last fight is $5-10M).

Right now, Rousey is the bigger star. But we'll see in 6-9 months. Half of Rousey's appeal/mystique was her undefeated status.

Meanwhile, McGregor's stock is only going up, up, up. With a couple more wins, he could become the edgy/trash-talking international version of Peyton Manning.

I'd also say McGregor is bigger than Couture, GSP, Liddell --- only because the sport has grown so much in the last 10 years, 5 years (especially worldwide). Did ESPN cover UFC in 2005? Nope, not really.

Who else has called their shot like Babe Ruth. He called it exactly as it happened, that will never happen again. And I'm sure everyone knows who he is now.

It goes both ways though, Mob. Mayweather would be a joke in the UFC.

^ THIS

Although in Mob and Mayweathers defense, they didn't talk shit saying they could participate cross sport.

Because they know they can't! Period. I see it at every event I work, on local and national level. Wrestlers/BJJ guys went 8-0 here last night against mainly boxers/stand up guys.

Wrestling and BJJ > Boxing. But, I still love and respect the Sweet Science.

My favorite counter puncher of all time, James Toney, tried, but he failed miserably.

No it doesn't. Mayweather didn't choose to fight in the UFC. There is history in the sport of Boxing and where there is history there is respect. The legacy of the UFC is Anderson Silva and Conor Mcgregor...or Rhonda rousey? The lack of respect UFC shows for boxing is a disgrace. This sport wouldn't exist if not for Boxing and the greats who influenced them. Jack Dempsey, Jake Lamotta, Muhammad Ali, Joe Fraizer, Sugar Ray Robinson who had over 200 career fights. Would fight three times a month sometimes. That is respect. There is no true balance in UFC. IMO, Mcgregor should of signed up for boxing because he can't take anyone down and all he does is throw. So you have someone who the UFC assigns as the biggest star in UFC mens history and all he does is throw hands? To me that is a slap in the face of the UFC because the best fighter is pretty much a boxer. Let him box then and let him get worked. Boxing is an art.

Andersan Silva and Mcgregor both allowed themselves to take shots when they took their first big loss. Don't know if anyone noticed last night but Mcgregor was eating punches. Was barely moving his head and was barely blocking any shots. He was allowing dude to just rock him in the face with jabs. That is not art. That is either he is too cocky and thinks no man can beat him or he wanted to lose on purpose. Silva did the sameee shit when he lost to Weidman the first time.
