I've seen this on Ebay, CraigsList, Facebook, Yard Sales, Second Hand stores, etc.


People trying to sell used crap for more than you can buy it brand new.


Are they trying to rip people off or just plain stupid?!?

I think some just figure that people assume that certain items are cheaper or a deal in a pawn or second hand store.

Other times I dont think people even look at what an items costs, they just know what they paid and what they want.
If that item is electronics especially then there can be a disparities for sure.

Both. I saw it on amazon last week. The laptop I bought was $330 and a used version was $370. WTF

sometimes people don't do their due diligence before selling used items.

i.e. mikeb buys a top of the line anal plug for $200. 6 months (700 uses) later he tries to sell it for $150 thinking it is still new. He doesn't realize that is last year's model now available for $125 brand new.

They do it, because there are enough dumb fucks out there that will pay it.

Do a search right now on Ebay for Walmart Gift Cards. There are 231 out there, any most of the bids are above the face value of the gift card (WTF).

some of this is distorted by cash back sites, eBay bucks, credit card rewards..after all said and done might not actually be more for the buyer

no one is forcing anyone to buy something.

some people put things up for sale when they don't really want to sell it. except for the right price.

some people put things up for sale when they want to launder or hide the movement of cash.
