In the rules it couldn't be reviewed but it was a good kick. Who knows who wins in OT.

The rule will be changed for next year more than likely.

it's not the Year of the Ref, that's for sure

then again, maybe it is, maybe they actually think they're what it's all about so they're trying to take over

it's time for sanctions to be levied, heads to roll, jobs to be lost, public humiliation, it's time for them to go

College refs are a bigger joke than NFL refs. Conference affiliation is terrible. They need to do something.

field goal looked good

even if it's directly above the post it should be good, that was clearly inside

ref was either blind, on the take, late for dinner, or had to take a leak

Don't think it was clearly inside at all. When it sailed over I said to myself "well, he pushed it a few inches."

Clearly Inside Like Mike said. You're Blind as a Bat. Or you have a really really tiny TV or you was watching it on a phone. With a cracked screen. Terrible Travesty the Bowl Dreams of Indiana Hoosiers utterly destroyed in such an awful awful way.

Are you sure about that? I thought the rule was that if even a portion of the ball crosses directly above the post, it is NOT good.

Yeah, agree to disagree and if there's a disagreement from two guys watching the same thing on tv, it wasn't an easy call by any stretch on the field.

Was very shocked about the "We don't review it if its above the goalpost" deal. I never knew about that.

I'm sure they refuse to review if above the goal post just because they are lazy sumbiches. And just wanna get back to the Hotel as soon as they can so they can drink and pick up women in the lobby bar.

I agreed, with the rule though...in this instance. Because I was on DUKE

Had I been on Indiana I'd not have agreed with the rule at all. The opposite in fact.

In a Just World Interpretation...enforcement of Rules would be based upon what side my bet is on.

This is not a Just World though. i don't need to tell you guys that.

That is incorrect .

If the ball is directly above the post it is not good.
The entire ball has to be perceived to be fully inside the post when kicked above the post.

Looking at those photos, I'd say that would be a tough call to make live without replay. The first photo looks like it's in but the angle might creating that illusion. The second photo looks like it's right on the edge. I don't know rules in football though, does anyone?

The camera angle looking straight up is a little distorted because that camera is situated in the center of the goal posts as opposed to directly underneath that particular goal post.

Just looking at at those two still shots, I think correct call was made also. It's very close. I'd give the befit of the doubt to the ref who was standing directly underneath.

That would make sense as if even a portion of a ball is directly above a goalpost if lower that ball would impact the goalpost though we have seen a few of those bouncers go THROUGH for 3 though....or an extra point of course. But, yeah, that sounds lie it'd be the Rule.

From what I saw it definitely looked to me like the part of the ball passed directly over the goalpost.
