Hi Folks,
We do a lot of really insightful, thoughtful and serious features here at Footballguys with some very smart people thinking deeply for you. This is not one of those features.
This is Random Shots and it’s a few pages of me downloading my goofy and dysfunctional mental hard drive that gets stuffed with way too many random items from too many hours watching, reading about and listening to football every weekend and throughout the week. It's the only way I keep relatively sane. Here's hoping it has a tiny bit of value for you.
We’ll see how it goes. Let’s get to it.
J

The Holidays are upon us. Let's open with the best rendition I've heard in a while of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" courtesy of that noted Holiday Crooner - Bill Belichick. Click here for the video.

Just like last year, I'm starting right off the bat with the music as we cover all the Holiday bases. First a Run DMC - Charlie Brown mashup of Christmas in Hollis.

Next up is Adam Sandler with the classic Chanukah Song.

Elvis sings my favorite Christmas song.

And for a picture of cool personified, he butchers the words but still kills it live.

Long live the King.
And one last song for you Star Wars fans...

Lastly, one of my favorite Sports Illustrated covers from a few years back featuring Belichick Santa.

What is it about Belichick and this time of year?
Happy Holidays from all of us at Footballguys.

Rock on, Eric Berry. Pro Bowler.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is Old School.

Here's the Panthers - Giants game in six seconds.

Be like Cam Newton here. You got this.

Monday night looked like the most fun Matt Stafford's had in a while. Click here to see him bust out the Ray Lewis Dance after the game.

If you're an Eagles fan not happy with Chip Kelly, you'll want to click here to see this clip...

New video from the Odell Beckham Jr. and Josh Norman coverage Sunday.

Jared Allen's response.

The baseball bat talk has been interesting as well. For you guys old enough to remember The Warriors.

Mostly, I can't believe Beckham's day ended so poorly. He got off to such a fantastic start.

This week's edition of Things Move Fast.

Fun foreshadowing moment in Pre-Game Warmups with Newton grabbing Odell Beckham Jr. style one-handed passes. With no gloves.
Coincidence to be captured by the camera? Or sending a message?

Look Good - Feel Good. I bet Brian Orakpo feels AWESOME.

There's not much better than a sleepy Josh Norman calling into Mike and Mike on Monday morning. It's long at 9 minutes but worth every second. Especially the end. Click here to download the audio.

Josh Norman covering Randy Moss would have been the greatest "Mic'd Up" segments of all time.

Soccer Note Of The Week.

Things Move Fast Part 2 for this week.
Brandon Weeden in the playoff hunt. For the Houston Texans.

Rob may have been right...

Derek Carr making a strong push for the Dolphins QB job in the post-game press conference.

And Jimmy Clausen with one of those "Picture's worth a thousand words" shots.

A fun moment after the Thursday night game with Brandon Marshall doing a Michael Irvin imitation. Fun to see these guys have fun.

I admire Jason Pierre-Paul's toughness and desire to get back on the field. But it feels like at least once a game something like this comes up. Tackling Cam Newton is a tough job for any player. But nearly impossible here for Pierre-Paul.

Rock on, Zach Mettenberger...

Rock on Gingerbread Man.

Yes Lamar Miller owners, Dan Campbell really does hate you...

Minnesota's Teddy Bridgewater threw for 231 yards and 4 touchdowns. On just 20 pass attempts. That's ridiculous for just 20 passes.
If he could have kept that pace and thrown 55 times like Ben Roethlisberger Sunday, his stat line would have been 46 completions on 55 attempts for 625 yards and 11 touchdowns.

NBA Note. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich seemed impressed with George Hill's hair. Click here for the video with sweet audio.

Kirk Cousins needs to buy this guy a Christmas present.

Thanks to @Irish_Boh_Packs for that one.
More on Cousins. I bet this fan was glad to be wrong. From the Washington Post.

Let the Jersey Ordering, Poster Hanging and Daily Tweeting begin...

NHL Note. And here I was getting all upset over Odell Beckham Jr. and Josh Norman...
Click here to see the video.

What a crazy year for Dallas.

Saints linebacker Dannell Ellerbe felt better two seconds before this play than he did two seconds after.

Josh Norman wasted no time after the game retweeting this picture.

I'm with my Buddy David Dodds though, this might have been the worst thing Beckham did this weekend...

Add Eric Decker to the list of guys who wear their wedding rings.

Detroit's Devin Taylor erasing any doubt as to who'd win the Monday Night game...

Holiday Puzzle. Find the Panda among the Snowmen here.

Thanks to Dudolf for this one.

Note to Johnny Manziel: This is not the way to get a favorable call from the official...

Buffalo's LeSean McCoy greeting a Washington fan before the game. Shaking hands but letting it be known why he was there. Click here for the video.
"What's up? How you doin'? But we're not friends though. We're not friends. You know how I do the Redskins. You know how I do y'all".

In case you missed it, Odell Beckham Jr. was suspended for one game this week. I'm tired of talking about it and I bet you are too. My one tangent point on the issue. If I'm Beckham, I'm asking how much Cody Wallace is being fined here...
PIT.wallace.hit.gif

(Update - turns out it was a fine for $23,152)

I wonder if the executives at Geico realize their Peter Pan commercial makes me never want to buy their product?

Tyrod Taylor sharing that Christmas Spirit with his offensive linemen.

I told you about Perrish Cox with the bullfighter move last week. Click here to see the video.

Then Coty Sensabaugh this week. Click here for the video.

It's been a rough couple of weeks for Tennessee defensive players...
Maybe they should recruit a couple of these Kindergarten kids. Click here to see they're obviously not afraid of contact.

Thanks to Footballguy Doug Kovatch for that one.
Speaking of Kindergarteners, Patrick Peterson was trolling Eagle fans hard.

One more NBA note. Brandon Herbert is an intern for the Memphis Grizzlies. Right before Thanksgiving, his car, a 1993 Chrysler New Yorker was stolen. He had no means of transportation and reportedly didn't want anyone to know about it. The players learned of the situation and bought him a new car.

Titans quarterback Zach Mettenberg was rocking the Dan Marino facemask Sunday.
ten.mettenberger.facemask.png

mia.marino.facemask.JPG

Unfortunately for Titans fans, the similarities pretty much end with the facemask...

I had no idea Shayne Graham had that kind of leg.

Aaron Rodgers and Chris Paul are featured on the newest Dude Perfect trick shot video. Yes, these things always redline the "Bro Meter" but some of these are fun. Plus the Shooter McGavin from Rodgers is classic. Click here to see it.

I'm not sure how these turned into me jumping on to my Soap Box at the end but here's the last one of those for this year. It's something I shared with some of my guys I hang out with. And it might be of interest to you guys. It's just a reminder of stuff you already know.
Here's my point: Be present. This can be the most time-crunched time of the year trying to juggle everything. From parties to dinners to gifts to decorating to making food. I get it. I like all those things. But here's the thing - when time gets tight, some things have to go. Some things aren't going to make the cut and simply won't happen. This means we have to prioritize and make sure the most important things DO get done.
And I can say with confidence, the most important thing those around you want is very simply just you. I'm sure your secret recipe dessert is awesome. But what they really want is you. The people closest to you want you to look them in the eye and hear, really hear what they're saying. So when you have to decide between running out and getting that last gift or hanging out with that person who needs it, choose the person. Always choose the person. You can make the cool dessert next month as a surprise.
And I'm talking to myself here more than you guys. (As I usually am)...
That'll do it for this week, Folks. Thanks to Footballguys Doug Drinen, Clayton Gray, Keith Overton, David Dodds and Doug Kovatch for the help on this one.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays and I hope you have a fantastic week. This will be the last Random Shots of 2015 and next week I'll do a "Best Of" where I recap some of my favorite lines from the year.
Thanks for playing along and I hope you make the most of whatever you're doing in your life. Love your neighbor and stick together.
Peace and Grace to you.
J
