Chargers management must have taken their cue from Roger Goodell.

San Diego Chargers All-Pro safety Eric Weddle was fined $10,000 for watching his daughter’s halftime performance during a game against the Miami Dolphins.

The game took place on Dec. 20, and Weddle apparently didn’t tell his coaches that he intended to watch his daughter’s performance. Instead of privately dealing with Weddle’s actions in a meaningless game, the Charges chose to make it a huge public issue.

The team not only fined him $10,000 for conduct detrimental to the team, but also placed him on injured reserve for the rest of the season, which means he will not be able to travel with the team for its final road game of the year.

Weddle will be a free agent at the end of the year, and while he has been silent on this issue, it appears that his tenure in San Diego could be over.

On the bright side Weddle will have an opportunity to play for a team that has a chance to actually make the playoffs.

I don't see the issue with the fine.
Espescially if he did not tell the coaches about it before doing it.
You can't just skip halftime just for the hell of it .

I don’t have an issue with the fine either. The Chargers can do whatever they want. I do think although that it’s chicken shit.

Weddle is one of the better safeties in the league and if they want to retain him that’s not the way to go about it.

Maybe they don’t want to spend around 15 million for him next year.

Or maybe it’s payback for him calling them out this year.

"It's obvious that I'm not part of this organization's long-term plan. The NFL is a business, and I can accept that. I just wish the organization had been up front with me from Day 1."

Either way I doubt he’ll lose any sleep over it.

I think it was Booger Mcfarland this morning who said one time he came in at halftime and was on the shitter for 10 minutes and never heard anything the coaches said and never got fined. He thought it was BS that Weddle got fined.
