Is there any doubt in your mind Stanford is much better than MSU?

I believe Stanford would've played Alabama down to the wire yesterday.

This is why we need at least an 8 team playoff.

I agree no doubt but if we did that, people would say we then need 16 and so on and so forth.

Yeah and that might be a good thing. I'd rather see 40 playoff games than 40 uninspired bowl games.

I don't think anyone is clamoring to get 16 teams in anymore... 8 would get it done for good imo.. Mich St got a lot of breaks to just get into this thing... Should have lost to Michigan and Oregon.... fluke blocked punt and Adams playing with a broken finger for the Ducks...

Stanford played themselves out of the playoffs

MSU played it's way in

it is what it is, there was no other choice

what happened with common opponents? should that be overlooked too?

MSU beat OR, Stanford lost
MSU won the conference Northwestern played in, Northwestern beat Stanford too

hindsight is 20/20, it's easy to argue somebody wouldn't have been blown out, but selections are made based on known results, not futures

I get all that. It's just pretty clear to me Stanford would roll MSU on a neutral field.

Saban would game plan mcCaffrey and shut him down....Then what does Stanford have?

Alabama would own Stanford....Easy win!

Good luck!

I believe Stanford would've played Alabama down to the wire yesterday.

Because they destroyed Iowa?

I beleive Bama is vulnerable but no way does Iowa have close to the speed that Bama has on D. Most of Iowa's D will be at home watching most of Bama's D play on Sunday's.

I do give props to Stanford for playing the toughest schedule in the country and they should have been in an 8 team playoff but I don't see Mcaffrey doing that vs Bama's D and I do not see Stanford's Oline containing Bama's D-line.

The game was more about how bad and overrated Iowa and the Big10 are (minus OSU and Mich). Stanford isnt a great team, probably not top 5, but they also played an awful team yesterday

Iowa is a team one play away from playing for the National Championship and they got dismantled.

I'm going to suggest Stanford is not Alabama and MSU is not Iowa

all the big bowls have been blowouts, they've sucked, and I don't think it's strictly about talent, it's some sort of aberration, the stars are not aligned

I'm blaming it on el nino
