The Buccaneers announced that head coach Lovie Smith has been relieved of his duties, with team co-chairman Joel Glazer saying in a statement: "This decision was difficult on a variety of levels. I am disappointed that we were not more successful these past few seasons, but we are committed to doing what is necessary to give our fans the winning team they deserve."

Thank God

He was/is a blooming idiot who gave the same, lame, repetitive excuses every week, and that's only if you could actually make any sense at all of what he was saying.

QB's completed 70% of their passes against Tampa this year.

70 percent!

Just unreal & comical.

Tony Dungy - Tampa Bay least or near the least penalized team in the league every year

Lovie Smith - Tampa Bay the most penalized or near the most penalized team in the league each year

Just because a coach is the same color & coached under his predecessor doesn't make him the same talent.(Herm Edwards another example)

We traded y'all Joe Maddon for Lovie Smith. :)

You were seeing the same frustrating shit I saw when Lovie was in Chicago. Joe has worked out well so far though.

Most players seem very upset at the move as they liked playing for him & felt you need to keep a consistent staff in place to build something which is true.

That's the story for all of these black head coaches. Everyone loves playing for them and then well.....they lose. They always lose....Jim Caldwell, Lovie Smith, Herm Edwards, Mike Singletary, Tony Dungy sucked even when he had Manning in his prime. I would love to torture that Obama loving queer.

Just stop it...Black head coaches..Why? It is a thinking man's position. But, well then we will draft a black qb. The Glazers are billionares but somehow come up with that scenario. Just makes no sense.

How are some coaches so bad at managing timeouts, the clock, and other game day decisions. Don't they someone in a booth who runs the numbers for them?

Their improvement was a lot from the season before. I would have given him 1 more year.

No offense Mark but there was not only no improvement on defense, they were statistically WORSE than last year.

Also, there were 3 games that had miraculous things happen in which they had absolutely no business winning.

They were basically a 3-13 team.

Offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter will be the new head coach...

Mike Tomlin belongs in high school. He does a great job at trying to sound like a football coach and that is it. The guy is a linebackers coach and that is it. Take Roethlisberger off that team and he would be exposed for the Charlie Batch loving fake head coach he is.

I could argue; besides Brady, no one player makes a bigger difference in wins/ losses as Roethlisberger....

But Luck is in top 5.

Some say black coaches are too emotional and cannot make rational decisions under pressure.

I believe the emotional part. Ever been to a black funeral or a black church??

It's the pre fontal cortex. See blacks don't evolve so they have this deviated septum. The pre frontal cortex plays a huge role in decision making. The easiest way to describe it is a term called " executive function". Can they determine good and bad? Better or best?

Or just a simple action sequence.... "If I do this now...what will be the outcome"

I don't have all the answers as 100's on the Rx will tell you but it is intriguing.

I don't see where it went wrong..A black head and a black quarterback. How can you lose? The other one will be out of there within 3 years.

He should've been fired after last year...8-24 after 2 years...shouldn't be an outcry over this

No offense taken :toast:
As long as they win and get it done would be all I cared about. Yea some of them weren't pretty but "miracle" wins like they had shows they didn't give up. I was never a big Lovie as head coach fan they had some injuries, but RB bounced back out of multi year slump. New young QB. WRs when healthy are better than avg. TE was looking good. Coaching change could set them back unless they replace him with Sean Payton or another capable big name I wouldnt expect anymore than 5 wins from them next season.
