BAY CITY, Mich. — A man is accused of proposing to his girlfriend at Walmart and then stealing an edible thong and a sex toy from a nearby mall.
The Bay City Times reported that 25-year-old William Cornelius Jr. had an employee at a Michigan Walmart read his marriage proposal to his girlfriend over the store’s loudspeakers.
The paper reported that 20-year-old Sheri Moore accepted his proposal and the two were applauded by employees and customers. Cornelius then bought her an engagement ring from Walmart for about $29.
But Cornelius is accused of then shoplifting from a nearby shopping mall later that day.
Cornelius was found to be in possession of an edible thong, a sex toy, panties and sex candy, according to the Bay City Times.
Cornelius allegedly told deputies he stole the items for his fiancée, who reportedly admitted to having stolen jewelry.
