without special teams, Bama may end up losing that game. The better team last night won but really feel both teams were pretty much equal and game could have gone either way.

and those SEC teams (and really any team) that wants to beat Bama.....TAMU, Auburn, Clemson and OhioSt have all given out the recipe on how to do it. You arent going to smashmouth your way to victory (*cough* MichiganSt *cough*). You have to have a dynamic offense with a running QB to get it done. the problem with most teams is the coach doesnt want to play that style of offense or they just dont have the ingredients to get it done.

Don't have the ingredients?
Correct, every team doesn't have a Heisman-caliber mobile QB
If only they grew on trees

"Without Special Teams" -lol you mean without 1/3 of the team and what it takes to win.

Clemson's Special Teams have been terrible through the years, and it makes zero sense considering all their talent. It cost them last night.

"A couple of lucky plays"-well, Maybe it will finally be realized that it takes a little "luck" to win sometimes. The balls gotta bounce your way.

The overall better team with the overall better coaches won last night. Do they if they played again? Maybe not, but the ball bounced their way last night in a tight game. On to next year...

#16 and counting!

who cares about anything except final score ?? Final score 45-40. Get ready,
will make a run again next year. Loaded with talent. Will have a legit QB next year and a Derrick
Henry Jr. Waiting on standby. 9 freshmen saw considerable playing time for Bama last night.

The better coach team won, for sure.
Saban is an evil genius, pooch onside was golden.
Gave up 550 yards & still won

You are correct Bear. Alabama will be loaded again for the 2016 season. On offense, must replace QB,
RB, 1 WR, center and RT. Defense will lose several studs but the guys behind them are studs and played
in the rotation all season. Quarterback battle will be interesting but hell the past two years it been that
way. The Tide will be in the hunt again!

*Cough* LSU *Cough * Arkansas *Cough*)

Agreed completely and I've said it before. I will say this, the Clemson defense other than the botched coverages on OJ Howard, kept Bama in front of them and made them earn just about everything. The Onside kick was brilliant. That's what having a quality control department and special teams coach to review tendencies will do for you. Hats off to Bama. They did what they needed to do to win the game, because their defense was not about to win it for them. And that vaunted OL got manhandled all night long

Luck happens when preparation meets opportunity. I'd say Bama prepared pretty dang well. Congrats to them

The onside kick is a perfect example of preparation and opportunity.

The better team was Clemson & that is not debatable. However the better coached team was Alabama especially in taking advantage on special teams & catching them flatfooted with that onside kick. Clemson gave that game away & they have no one to blame but themselves.

Clemson just got out coached. Now you know the difference between a $3 million dollar coach and a $7 million dollar coach. The look on Swinney's face after that onsides kick was priceless...Having said that, personally I'm getting tired of Bama winning championships every other year and having to go through them to win the championship for the last 10 years. Sorry Bama fans, but if I don't see the Tide in the playoffs or hear the S-E-C brotherhood chant again in my lifetime it won't bother me..

8.3MM, more than any NFL coach and he doesn't have to deal with a bunch of overpaid children. Fat chance in hell he leaves that dream world.

I've said the same silly things in the past as well....Like in 07' and 11'.

But you just need to man up and say "the better team won that day" like I learned to do.

Because in the end you have no argument saying the better team lost. If they were better they would not have lost!

Bingo. Continue to avoid that Special Teams isn't a 1/3 of the game and doesn't count for much is baffling to me too. It's like being good off the tee in golf and not being able to putt. You look good right off the bat, but when it's all over, you go home a loser.

Agree 1000%, I never won anything I wasn't better at. That being said, the "better" player did lose, the better team won.

It's funny, I heard Saban on the radio today (Mike & Mike). He said, "If that was the first game of the year, we'd have a lot to worry about...." Which is true.

I don't think "the better team lost". I think Clemson's QB was incredible and he was the best player on the field (even better than OJ and the Heisman winner). But 1 player does not make a team.

I was impressed w/ Clemson however. With that QB returning, they'll be good again next year.

And on the "lucky" comments....How many "lucky" 10, 11 yard scampers did Watson have that extended drives? Those were plays where Bama's D had terrific coverage and lost contain on the QB. It took Bama until the 4th quarter to figure it out....and he still managed to get loose a couple of times. If Bama was "lucky" so was Clemson.
