Marshawn Lynch announced his retirement in February. However, speculation is rampant that the running back might be reconsidering and may play in 2016.
Lynch reportedly has told two teammates he is mulling playing this season and could very well suit up in 2016, according to a report. Cornerback Richard Sherman and defensive end Michael Bennett both refused to definitely say Lynch will not play this season and left the door open for a return in 2016.
Another factor that could provide a clue about Lynch's intentions is he has not submitted offical retirement papers to the NFL. His agent, Doug Hendrickson, maintains that Lynch will not play in 2016. Lynch has not spoken publicly since announcing his retirement.
If Lynch ultimately decides to return, the Seattle Seahawks will be placed in a very awkward position and ultimately may decide they don't want Lynch.
The Seahawks placed Lynch of the reserved/retired list May 6 and Lynch has a $9 million salary cap hit if he comes back to the Seahawks. The 30-year-old Lynch ran for just 417 yards in seven games during an injury-riddled season in 2015 and second-year running back Thomas Rawls, who had a breakout season before he suffered a season-ending ankle injury, looks poised to replace Lynch.
Bottom line is with Lynch's age, salary and Rawls set to take over at running back, the Seahawks have moved on from Lynch. The Seahawks are most likely hoping Lynch stays retired and they don't have to cross what would be a very bumpy bridge

Gronk says the same thing ... he just lives off his endorsement cash.
