SAN ANTONIO - Four current Crystal City leaders, one former Crystal City councilman and one Texas businessman were arrested in a massive FBI-led operation that took place early Thursday morning in various locations, including Crystal City City Hall and an office in the Alamo Quarry Market area of San Antonio.
Crystal City's mayor and city manager were among the people arrested on bribery charges. In an unsealed indictment, the United States Attorney's Office accuses the city manager, William James Jonas, of facilitating and accepting bribes in exchange to help businessman Ngoc Tri Nguyen establish 8-liner gaming rooms in areas of Crystal City.
