They ran an insane, far too player friendly, NBA promo where they paid double the winnings of a selected team, that you could buy for a $500 deposit. It seemed like they badly needed money deposited fast, and this was a way to get it. As anyone with a clue could see, Players killed them on this and 1Vice ended it after about a month, even though they promised it was to be a season long promo.

Then, a couple of weeks before the Super Bowl, they stopped paying people and said they would resume 1 week after the Super Bowl. They took a YUGE position in the Super Bowl, and for the 2nd year in a row doing that, they were right when Denver beat Seattle. Still, it didn't save them, as a week later, they announced they were being "bailed out" by RDG Corp, they of the infamous Apex Sportsbook Stiff Job http://www.therxforum.com/showthread.php?t=292398&highlight=apex many years ago. Evidently 1Vice broke off from RDG a few years ago, but came back home when they needed bailing out.

When balances were transferred to the RDG Corp platform, some players were told there would be an additional 10X Roll over, even if they had already met their roll over. Some were told they were being booted and would be paid at a later date. It seems payouts have resumed for some.

That's what I've picked up from various forums. Luckily I got out of 1 Vice in the beginning of the 2015 NFL Football season, and the NBA Promo sent up red flags that made me avoid the place.

it's really a shame because 1vice and griff has always been good to me. A couple summers ago I went on a run in baseball, turned around 300 into 4k within a couple weeks and he booted me but paid me every dollar. Griff is a cool dude for the most part...just ran business bad. Live and Learn I guess...

People look down on tony at 5dimes because he runs a tight ship, WELL looks who has been the top 3 USA out offshore for the past 15+ years...Yep Tony and 5d.

Betislands ran into the same problems 1vice did...They think just because they are a sportsbook that they can lose...well when you hand out +ev bonuses people are going to pounce and pounce they did...

RIP 1vice and Griff Dog

Glancing around elsewhere I seen it said they had a huge position in the Super Bowl.. How is that public information?

If you have/had an account there, you could see their actual lines. They were consistently 1 to 1.5 points to the better if you wanted to bet Carolina. Their M/L on Carolina was always about .25 less than market. They also took a similar position on the total, which they lost, but that's peanuts compared to the side play.

yeah, i definitely didn't wish them any harm
was rooting for them..

Customer Service there - including griffin were always A+ to me...
it seemed like they were aggressively gambling on the business.... I don't envy his job of trying to attract deposits in today's landscape...

I hope everyone gets paid, and griffin lands on his feet. can't imagine the weight of owing that many people money

I think Griff's intentions are/were good but sometimes his ego gets in the way of sound business decisions and the reality of running a small, forum player seeking book. He could have pulled a Betislands John or WSEX or Betonsports and just disappeared with players funds, or pop up under another name somewhere else, but at least he's trying to make a go of it. I hope he succeeds. It's tough when you have to depend on a past stiffer like those at RDG, but if no legit book like 5 Dimes, Heritage, Bookmaker, etc were willing to step up, what can you do to save your business?
